Hi Garrett has released the GEN II range and these are the new maps for the gen 2 range I am still trying to get my head around these compressor maps can some one plot them out or explain them
how much horsepower will they support?
how well will the turbo spool? at 3000rpm & 3500rpm at 20psi
actual potential on the motor?

Therefore I'm sort of skeptical they'll make any extra power, if anything I'm worried they'll be worse than v1, in particular for 2L turbo engines on E85 and high boost. Suspect they're aimed at turbo-converted V8s on lower boost - mind that Garrett is also releasing reverse rotation variants for symmetrical twin turbo setups.

As for the sizing, the 6258 is plenty small and is pretty much best placed around 250kw. It's good for 270kw on e85 but is going to respond like a much smaller turbo. The thing about them is because the response is so good, you don't have to run a smaller turbo to keep low down.

There are plenty of options out there if you look around at better prices with real world motor sport testing data to back up the claims, plus pricing on the Garrett Gen 2 and EFR are cheaper if you know where to look rather than at internet pricing from main stream retailers
