Hey guys, unfortunetly have to get rid of a few of my photography items if anyones interested, thought id let you guys know first before ebaying stuff

Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM $2200
Canon 16-35mm F2.8L II USM $1400

both bought at camera house in Perth in august 2009, and have only seen minimal use since then :( (have receipt)

lenses in perfect condition, come with UV filters (the 82mm filter on the 16-35 cost $100!). if you put these next to a brand new lens you couldn't tell the difference :)

Ive got my first born due in 9 weeks and just cant justify this stuff lying around when I've barley touched it since moving back to VIC twelve months ago.

still got my 5dmark II and 24-70 f2.8 for baby snaps with a few canon flashes and pocketwizards. so ill still try to keep out there shooting :)

can anyone explain this,

just bought a ND8 filter, when it is on, i take the picture and when viewing it on the camera LCD it is fine. but when i look at the jpeg on the computer, it looks like below. I have no idea whats doing it, maybe metering, active d lighting or something. can anyone shed any light on situation.

BTW camera was on tripod for below shot, No VR on either

Wow man! I just found a way to make microscopic shots!!
Tested on my monitor, so close that you could see the tiniest scratches on it!! (my laptop has no visible scratches!)
I know this is on the cheap side but it does wonders for me lol
Just got to secure it and ill post some pics up!

Check it out here:

http://www.petapixel...-for-1-million/

I would be happy with just $5000 hahahaha...

He is quite famous actually and has won awards on AIPP.. been following his landscape stuff when I first started getting into photography years back.. but havnt seen or heard from him much until today.

600D looks promising, close spec to 60D but I would hate of no dial for the F-stop (unless I am blind lol can't see the dial for the F-Stop).

I remember the 400D uses the same dial for F-stop and shutter speed, you have to press and hold an extra button for theF-stop

Hai guys

I do a lot of travelling, so keeping things light and portable is a huge thing for me. I cbf'd carrying an entry level DSLR around (I'm not going to pretend I am by any stretch of the imagination a "good" photographer).

However, I like toys. So, from the upmarket point and shoot range the S95 and XZ-1 take my fancy the most.

Has anyone any experience and/or recommendations to go with one over the other?

I figure the S95 is pocketable; just, whilst the XZ-1 means I'll have to carry around a belt mounted hip pouch or something. Which is kind of the gay.

Also, if you have any other suggestions of similar cameras, I'd be happy to consider it.

Thanks in advance.

Get the 70-200L f4 if you can atleast. grey import price for that lens is under 1k mark. Trust me the quality of that lens is incredible. No need to get the IS version as you dont need it for panning shots.
Camera settings for panning shots: 1/80-1/200th for that motion blur. Just experiment and have some fun.
Filters - maybe some ND filters for those super bright days.

I just brought a 600D body and Tamron 18-270mm lens (B008), this is my first DSLR

Waiting on the lens to arrive this week, and borrowed an old SLR 35-80mm to use on the weekend. Very noob at the moment but can't wait to learn more.

Ask for 2nd shooter gigs. That what I did when I first started.

Join various photography forums and ask.

Just wondering if any of you nikon or canon users have used or own a 24mm 1.4 lens??

if so what are you thoughts, pro's & con's of the lens?

thinking of upgrading in the near future to FX and a fixed wide angle low ap lens
