So gonna get my first dslr camera and decided on the nikon d5100 now it comes in a kit with an 18-55mm lens and i'm wondering will I be happy with it or should I just get the body and choose another lens?

Camera will only be used casually just shooting random things holidays, cars etc.

18-55 will work as a good all purpose lens. I would always recommend adding in a 30-35mm fast prime lens for any camera.

Not the best lens for low light. But for outdoors in bright day light its an alright lens.

I reckon just get the body and get a better lens.
