215rwkw clutch opinions

undspec's Photo undspec 03 Jun 2017

Hi All,

I'm after a little feedback from the peeps with experience on multiple clutches.
I've just seen through a excedy HD cushion button after 5 years and 35tho k's.
I was never honestly happy with it as it would do massive slips into 2nd and 3rd on occasions, plus disengagement issues.
What would be a better option as this car is 95% daily driven?
I'm semi convinced from research the nismo copper mix would be good though obviously $$.

Are any xtreme's worth a try for the $ value?
I'd rather dodge the buttons and go organic if any are tough enough.

No personal experience, but the NPC organic seems to be the popular choice.
Close to stock drivability & will easily handle your power figure.

Npc organic ftw. Has been handling 310rwkw with track day abuse, no issues, feels stock. Had a similar experience to you with exedy but didn't last long at all.

Think this has been covered. Here is my personal experience
Nismo Coppermix s13/14 version - No chatter unlike the s15 version, best feeling clutch and takes 250rwkw without issue. Still Good after 4 years. Abused regularly.
Nismo Coppermix s15 version - feels great but goddamn the chatter on decel is horrid that I pulled it out but took 270rwkw for 3 years. Abused.
NPC Heavy Duty Organic s15 (not my car so limited expereince) - didnt feel as good as the S15 Nismo Coppermix but No chatter and felt 90% as good. Took 320rwkw. Abused
Direct Clutch HD Organic - didnt feel as good as the S15 Nismo Coppermix but no chatter and still feels 90% as good. Took 277rwkw Not yet abused....

NPC HD organic would be my preference, only went the direct clutch because needed one and NPC could not accomodate in an acceptable timeframe (bad time of year)

Let us know how it performs once you have installed.
I'm looking at getting one soon for my S15.

Finished the install tonight, feels nice and light and much smoother and got a lot more bite than the excedy HD button.
Seems the clutch kit was all excedy manufactured but labelled with NPC though, not sure what NPC does too the manufactured clutch from excedy?
Either way feels good and will see how it goes once properly broken in.

Cheers
