STR8E180 - Love the airbox setup with catch can mini filters. Complex little setup with the two cans.
SR20 looks mint.

In order to have your car impounded you almost always have to give the coppers shit. If you say yes sir no sir 3 bags full sir you have a gun so i'm going to do what you say sir, they will rarely go to town on you.

Thats my mates S13. 300rwkw with Forged Internals and the supporting hardware. Got sick and tired of being defected and painted everything black including the turbo. Trick exhaust with factory muffler. Exterior wise the car was also pretty discreet, just a front bar and red paint. Got done once for bald tyres and too low - this was after ripping skids at the Safeway Carpark on chapel.

Matter of interest is that figure with the factory airbox?

Yep. The airbox had a CAI, larger opening and hi flowing K&N filter. The pod sucked in engine heat and created a thermal blanket. With the high mount and airbox he saw the same power figure with lower temps in the bay.

It was just a matter of interest, I too have kept the factory air box with similar modifications just wondering how much power the panel filter can support :)

Thanks!

from looking at all the pictures- i guess the general rule is that paint everything black- and hopefully the cops will thinks its stock. or better yet, when they pulled you at night- its less revealing too

Can some MOerator or anyone on this forum with a brain and some authority remove this thread before someone starts giving out all the secrets and f**ks it up for the quiet people!!!!!. No disrespect to the one who started this thread.....

But its hard enough has it is....the last thing I...We...want is to educate the POPO on our little tricks or what is behind our dirty engine covers.

Cheers

Once they open my bonnet im gonna have to start doing some fast talking, but with my car... they almost never do.

This is how it goes.

Coppers pull me over for "random" RBT.
Coppers commence giving me shit for being an import driver
Coppers start to realise I'm well mannered, educated and not who they were expecting

Coppers look at ride height and think meh... (Not much lower than stock)
Coppers look at twin tip exhaust, have a listen, think meh... (I have a varex)
Coppers look in my bumper, see (or dont see) the matte black cooler core, and think meh...

That's usually it!

If they DO go under the hood... well
the catch can is clearly plumbed back
the bov is clearly plumbed back
the air filter is clearly in an airbox
... but it's also clearly modified to hell and at this point I hope they decide not to screw me for no engineers cert as im clearly trying to do things the right way and I haven't been a smartass.

Protip: In order to have your car impounded you almost always have to give the coppers shit. If you say yes sir no sir 3 bags full sir you have a gun so i'm going to do what you say sir, they will rarely go to town on you.

Lose the attitude, lose the fulleh sick look at me rice, get your car off the bloody bump stops and you are more than half way to a hassle free motoring life.

** These lessons and others have been learnt the hard way over the past decade or so. Spray your coolers black kidlets!

Cheers for giving every sleeper out. Real inspiration to the cause!
