i wanna get these Gktech plates for my car as well but i just so could not be bothered pulling my sub frame out

ill do a trade with some one

ill weld in some ones plates onto their sub frame for free and in return you have to remove my sub frame and refit it for me

Sounds like a great deal! ha ha ha

Had a customer drop off this kit for us to weld in for him. Pretty good having the pieces cut to size instead of making them yourself from scratch like i did lol.

But there are a few pieces i have no idea where they go. i'll grab some shots tonight

^ lol was the same, we initially didn't realise where a few bits went, but managed to pick them.

I posted a link in this thread, it's to zilvia.net with pictures on where they sit.

Thanks to Trevor for doing this for us. Good man! Sorry I haven't had the chance to swap my subframes yet. Weather is fkn rediculous. Stock subframe coming your way soon (hopefully)!!!

Anyone in the East that can't be fkd driving to Neil's I can put you through to Trevor. Given he still wants to do the job.

Cheers,

Andy

S14 is a bit different to S13, but that last pic isn't it as the peice used is similar to S13.

I'll try post up a pic asap with where that similar peice went on the S13.

Think you got the first pic right though!

Andy

Nice. With the dimpling on the plates and a fresh coat of paint it looks 100% factory. I swapped in mine yesterday, albeit I only welded in some plates and a square tube bar to brace the toe rods and diff mounts. I'll drop it in the future when I have time and weld in some bracing like the GKtech kit.

Subframe stuff now for sale:

$35 - Bare S13/RPS13 subframe with less-than-ideal oem bushes. No accident damage, I just swapped in a spare subframe with new bushes etc, as you do. Diff bolts direct to the subframe using 4 bolts on the back and no bushes. Would make the whole weld/paint/bush process a zero-downtime experience. Pickup available from Penrith/Parramatta NSW.

$30 - Brand new and unopened Whiteline urethane differential support bushes for S13/180sx/S14/S15/R32/R33/R34 subframes that have 2 big circles the back. I got these a while ago without having checked either of my subframes... mistake. Currently sell for around $50 + post (http://www.kudosmoto...r34-p-1265.html). Prepared to post at your cost or pickup available from Penrith/Parramatta NSW.

Ill take photos of the subframe when we do our customers one. Found a dint in the subframe he provided then measured it up and it was 10mm down and longer than the other side.... so got him to replace it.

I pulled those two pics out of cabs build thread, I thought it looked like he was using s14/15 cradle? (Good chance I'm wrong)

How benificial is it to weld these plates in and how bad is it to remove the subframe?

Removing the subframe is easy, reinstalling it [assembled] is really annoying.

it goes above the front of the diff, above where the tailshaft bolts up.

Who cares? Someone copied - It's not like no one ever made arms, bash plates, knuckles and Gktech invented them...
