This thread has had a distinct lack of harassment for a few pages , good work on the car , alot of time and money spent just in the wrong areas. Planning on Pink paint in the future with 20" chromies?

On the topic of the short shifter:
I hate the idea of cutting and threading, but now I've had a think about it I cant see it being any worse than a "proper" short shiter kit.

If my year 8 physics is up to date, a cut shifter with the same throw as a proper short shifter will be the same to shift, just the cut one will have the gear knob sit lower. Plus it is running off all the oem stuff, so it should be more reliable than a cheap ebay kit. The down-side is theres no adjustment.

If you thread it properly and find the position and resistance of the shifter comfortable then its fine.

ive said this from the start... my n14 sss turbo had in the 170fwkw mark... wheel spin city... even under light throttle... as soon as that boost come on in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears just lit up the wheels... 4th and 5th where alright though... thats why i sold up and went back to rwd...

yeah i know it will be a bit of a shit to handle with the mass fwd power haha...but im doing all i can with a mass overhaulon the suspension and running gear...and there is also a thing known as not having ur foot planted at all times??...normally helps to prevent wheel spin?? haha

trust me itll be more then a shit to handle i drove my bros pulsar and it was only running 12psi and it had a very hard time trying to get traction, before you commit to a turbo conversion do ALOT of research into how to put the power down, my boss has a 220fwkw dc2 type R and it non turbo and he runs 9in wheels on the front with semi slick and he said it kinda helps with wheel spin so maybe look into something like that

Suspension wise I'm going the yellow speed 33 way adjustable coilovers all round dropping the front a little bit more than the rear to try and gget more weight pushing down on the front wheels a 27mm solid say bar in the front and back...rightnow I'm running a 8inch tyre and when I turbo it ill be buying a more grippier set of tyres...I mean I know its still gonna be a pain in the ass...as I drove my bros one and itt did carry on a bit but I reckon just trial and error and just keep adjusting things until I get the best result I can really...

Your wasting so much money, Could of saved yourself some money if you just went with a U12/U13 or a GTiR motor. Your going to have to get yourself a PAR Gearset cause your third gear is going to be f*cked. A

Quaife or if you can find a Nismo LSD to get the power down. A GT2860RS matched with the right AFM, Injecter and a Nistune could get you around 180kw-200kw Could write a lot more but can't be f*cked!

Im with this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

How do you think having a lower front end then the rear will help with getting the power down? Is that why all vs commodores are lowered in the rear only?

You need to get different spring rates front to rear, better sway bars, your gonna need some good tyres, not the cheapest that fit. Might have mentioned but what are you doing about a clutch?

I can just see a fair bit of under planning going into this one is all.

But at the end of the day he will end up with what he wants. just because its not the easiest road does not mean its the wrong one.
Trial and error is how things are done. and seems to have the money to do this.

only advice i have is drive it sensibly on the road, do your testing on a track of some sort to iron our the bugs
