80s model rwd mazda 626 turbo 2.2l ?

ok heres the story my brother has an old 929 sedan (76' rx4) he "rekons "he just picked up a 112,000km mazda 626 rwd 2.2l turbo mid 80s model and he is swapping everything over to his little 929 ive googled and googled and googled i cant find any info on these cars on the web can any one shed some light on the situation id inspect it my self but im in wollongong and hes in tamworth

he got the car for a carton of vb................,

im sure he's got know idea what engine is in this car but i have seen a rwd 5spd mazda 626 that was heaps quick in like 99' a burgandy one from bathurst????

sorry the one I posted is a 929(rwd), as far afaik the turbo 626's were all front wheel drive.

The F22 motor was a front wheel drive motor, it didn't come out in anything RWD.
It was fitted to Australian GD MX-6's, 626's (like below) and some korean cars in turbo and na form. The japanese got a twin cam na 2.0L instead.

The GD was made from 1988-1991/2.
