They're both S15's at the end of the day and generally the JDM's can be found at a significantly lower price.

As you said the JDM has many options that an ADM won't have.

I certainly know which one I'd choose.

JDM!

doesn't matter on ADM or JDM, as long it's in good condition, coudln't find one in jap spec when I bought my S15, I found a good ADM one with 27k on odo.

Once you modify it, ADM or JDM means shit to me imo, the only think I want from JDM is only the climate control, that's about it.

JDM would be better for your buck since its got the little extras as stock

but if your planning on modding it.. there no need to ask which one is better

JDM = more bang for your buck..

however ADM can often have a full service history ect. always nice

i have no idea wtf my 180 has been through in Jap land before it arrived.. so peice of mind??

+1 for if its being modified it does not really matter so much..

climate contoll in nice though...

S15's are hot period.

But, my 2c;

JDM S15 for bang for buck come as a more complete performance package. In a nutshell, as an import, they are often a gamble as finding a good, mechanically sound, neat example can proove quite difficult - if ur after this. A fair amount of imports tend to have had some hard life at Japan and these examples tend to be auctioned etc and the finer examples kept in Japan. Would Australia keeping all the crap commies and sending the better quality overseas. The score is some examples come already with stage 1 mods: cooler, zorst, pod, ebc, rims for cars pushing almost a decade old etc. Likely it would have been drifted, reverse engineered (stripped the parts back to stock), or been invovled in an accident.

ADM S15 Bang for quality and condition. ADM's tend to be in better quality in terms of more examples for sale seem to be less modified, trashed, newer (ADM '01- '02 vs JDM '98-'00). Even a better score if you buy and see it from a lady owner etc. compared to an unknown overseas trader. Being fresh out of a new car warranty - they tend to have log books that proove servicing and care during that period.

On paper the 20 or so kw difference is easily overcome by some aftermarket mods.

For me, I'd rather have an ADM. Newer, cleaner, less trashed model and make up the KW diff in mods.

So...go aussie for a jap car!

AMEN, got mine in very very very mint condition inside and out. the interior still smell like a new car when I bought it (now I farted too much in there ... hahahah j/k), just wish it has climate control, that's the only thing I am missing from the adm one. Sunroof will be handy as well but I got the Spec S.

full log book and very neat and clean engine bay, but that's prob the car was done only 27k on odo, that was back in Dec 2006

Best bang for your buck without a doubt is a JDM S15:

If you want to keep it stock then the JDM s15 for sure

but with the ADM you will upgrade everything anyway

not to mention with Imports you can never really be sure of the KMs on the clock and thus the condition of the car

not to mention and 02 car is much younger than a 99 (I love saying my car is only an 02 - although is getting old now) a 99 is almost a 10 year old car!!!

ADM Spec R with sunroof and a JDM leather wheel everyday (f**k the digital climate control)

I went ADM for

- car has full nissan delearship service history with reciepts;
- car was one owner elderly driver who I met
- insurance is the big reason, much cheaper and you dont have to go with just cars which have huge/kinda hiden excess charges
- got an ADM at JDM price :)

JDM has two advantages in my opinion
- climate control
- more power

Go with whichever model you can find a tidier car for at the same price. Who cares if its ADM or JDM, biggest difference is ball bearing turbo vs non ball bearing and the 20kw power difference.
