How r u guys getting mid 13's in S13 platform cars with hardly any mods??

I know a few people who own S13's including myself and generally its hard to get them go below a flat 14 on the street (g-tech times)

Is it just cuz the track is more accurate and stickier?
I reckon you are right there. You can launch harder at the strip due to the take off area being stickier. You would lose about an average of half a second on the take off on the street againt taking off on the strip in a RWD car with street tyres, wouldnt you?

Car make / year: Honda / 1999

Model: Prelude VTiR

Engine code / layout: H22A / FWD

NA / T / S: NA

Engine modifications: Simota Pod Air Filter (100mm Neck), Xplosion Twin Cannon Rear Muffler.

ATW kw figure: 114.7 kW DYNAMIC Dyno @ Protek Auto on 16th Jan 2005

Other performance modifications: Daiken Heavy Duty Clutch, BP Ultimate 98 Octane Fuel, Wynn's Spitfire Octane Boost (Increases Octane by 2 to 3 units.), EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads Front & Rear.

Tyres / wheels used @ tyre pressure: Stock 16x6.5" wheels with 205/50/16 Sime tires running 40psi all round.

Suspension setup: King Springs 40mm Lower with stock shocks.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Venue = Calder Park Raceway on 20th August 2004

Reaction time = 1.287

60 foot = 2.432

ET / 1/4 mile = 15.412

MPH = 93.19

Notes: Should have run alot less pressure in the front tires closer to 20psi i was getting alot of wheel hop off the line, maybe some better tires both of which would help bring the 60ft time down to around 2.1

I was happy with the mph but the ET needs work i think a high 14 is possible.

Yeh the launch must make a huge difference on the drag strip.

Because a 12.5 with a T28 and exhaust sounds like a downright LIE on the street! Even a 13.4 with exhaust and boost is really pushing it.

I ran a 13.5 in my 180 on 225's with exhaust filter boost and remap.

In a friends 180SX I ran a 12.1 on 225 street tyres with high flow T28 and around 200 rwkw

So I'd suggest a 12.5 is a definate possibility on the street

It is very dependant on driver skill as well. Some people are just able to get the very best out of their cars not to mention experience.

i did 20+ runs back to back, car was fine..

as far as motorsport goes becuase ur only using full throttle for 12-15secs at a time, dosent give components to get to breaking point. if set up and tuned well should have 0 problems unless u get silly like rev limiting clutch dumps on stock clutch and stuff like that.

14.951 at 160km/h stock tyres, exhaust etc...running about 10psi boost according to the gauge. This was done at an altitude of 1400m so I am blaming that...or the fact that I was running very lean then.

Done an unconfirmed 13.9 with 16 psi - but that killed my turbo after a while with stock exhaust and intercooler...

Hey Dude,
I'm with every one else on this one, light mods my arse??? I have a VT SS with 230rwkws and its lightly moded, and it only runs a consistent 102mph! So to be running 109mph you would have to have atleast 260+rwkws to push a 1600kg car down the strip. And if 260+rwkws is mild it to would like to go to your mates workshop!!!!!!

On your Monaro classification, another mild tunes HEY???? Unda21 was quoting Factory Figures......

I also own a S15 that runs constant 114mph and times from any where from 12.1 to 12.6, depending on traction!!! Made semi-finals at Fast Fours last year, but had an itchy foot and broke out. Bugger!!
