Hi guys something very sad and brazen occured to me sunday night by no less than a member of this forum

I had a 16.4" Sony Vaio VGN-FW490 laptop listed for sale on gumtree.com.au for $1000 and someone under the email n1smo_dr3amz@hotmail.com started emailing me enquiring about it and asking to "buy" it

I spoke to him on the phone briefly and he asked if he could come around to take a look at it so i said thats cool

He came around at about 7:30 sunday night with his mate to take a look at it and everything seemed fine until they said they had another laptop to look at in port adelaide and they'd call me if they wanted to buy mine

So he called me back and said he wanted to buy mine and that he was taking the money out of the atm to buy it, the 2nd time he came back him and his friend looked extra dodgy and his friend was basically asking how i could prove i purchased the laptop as i didnt have a recept (i purchased it from an online store)

At that point his friend was basically insinuating that i stole it and it was getting VERY weird at that point and a bit confrontational, so i went to sit down at my computer to print out the receipt at the site i purchased it from and as my back was turned one of them grabbed the laptop that i left sitting on my bed and i heard a bang as they kicked the front door open and ran off down the street with it

I got up and ran out the front as soon as possible and by the time i got to the front fence i saw them bolting already half way down the street carrying the laptop with another guy i hadnt seen before that they had left there as a "lookout"

They turned left down the next street and got into a car they had waiting for them and i heard it roar away, unfortunately i didnt make it in time to catch the car or license plate. I just put my hands over my head and yelled f**k and couldnt believe what had happened

Id say there were 4 guys all up and it seems that theyre going around doing this to multiple people

The guy "buying" it introduced himself as greg and he didnt say what his friends name was, however that guy was about 5'10 with tanned skin and dark reddy brown hair with a distinct short blonde mohawk in the middle

I should have noticed how dodgy these guys were before it got stolen, especially the whole deal with parking down the road and walking down to my house, you just don't expect people to go around pulling these types of scams on people, hindsight is always 20/20 though unfortunately

I had been banking on selling this laptop to put the money towards a car, unfortunately the insurance company wont cover it because they were "invited" into my house

I know it doesnt seem like much but losing 1k at this point is still pretty big setback for me

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I filed the police report on monday but as of friday im told that still noone has been allocated to it report was transferred to elizabeth police station and only received by them on thursday

Ive called the cops multiple times man and its very frustrating when you spoonfeed them all the information they need and they do nothing
