Thought i'd start this thread to see who else is waiting on the EFR series, what model, what plans?

I'm waiting on a 7064 1.05 A/R Twinscroll. My cars been off the road for 3 years so not in any rush. Turbo's going on a built SR with fullrace manifold and twin MV-R gates. It's been good having a delay as it's given me a chance to do some suspension work. Much longer and I might have to start getting a VE head build going.

I was looking at going twin scroll internal, but already had one gate and for the extra $150 on internal gate, figured i'd be better of going twins. Also the father in law makes musical instruments for a living, so hoping he can tune my twin screamers... Haha

It sucked that the released all the info and pricing before they were available. Has turned a lot of people sour. Hopefully here in a month.

Yeah Full Race were saying that's what they recommend for a stock engine. Would be a bloody responsive 260kw as well! All the B1 framed turbos are available, just waiting on the B2s.

Looking at the conversion rates ATM and we are trading around parity. I'm happy I paid my deposit and hedged the other 3k when we were trading at 1.07!

Yeah, I was almost going to go the 7064, bit worried the 6258 will fall short, but in the end I'm after mid range and early ramp on. I got the efr specific manifold they make too

As others have said it's the B2 framed EFR's that there's a wait on, when BW received the first shipment of the turbine housing from the foundry there were a number of flaws and they rejected the whole shipment. They then had to find another foundry and tool up that foundry. There were a few prototype housing available any they went to workshops like Sierra Sierra for testing on race cars. It disappointing but at least BW didn't accept the flawed housings and release a sub standard product.

So has anyone fitted there EFR yet, keen to see some data. Full Race recommended a 6258 but bit scared it will fall short, they said it should make 400rwhp easy with the right engine mods. Big number for a small turbo??

I haven't seen too much stuff yet. Go to the 6758 if you're concerned that it might fall short..

Twin mvr gates ? Bit over kill don't u think
I would rather twin mvs gates and have the extra clearance
I've seen the fullrace twin scroll sr20 with mvr gate there isn't much clearance where they place the gates

I ended up changing my order with fullrace to the 6758 as 7064 was going to take too long. It's low mount and no need for gates.

B1 frames are facing availability issues too apparently. BW is supplying 2011 Champ Cars.

Had my 6258 since... March... I think. Maybe longer.
Should have it all up and going next month, laziness and such.
Internally standard, custom made AM Performance manifold, BC step 2 cams, 850's and E85. Injectors will likely max out around the 270 mark I imagine. I'll be pretty happy with that.

so definite verdict is that the EFR 6258 will NOT fit a factory manifold/chinese bolt on manifold?

If you don't run water cooling or the BCSV, clearance the comp cover a little, and know a handy fabricator, it's very possible to run the standard manifold.
But I'm fussy, I like water cooling.
Did a lot of head scratching, tried a dozen different fixes, even bought an Apex'i manifold, couldn't find a suitable solution.

Custom manifold is a small expense to get the result I want. Happy to get a couple made up if you're going the 6258 path, might save us a bit of coin.

lol bling, i dont plan on using a 150 chinese shit manifold. i have a decent stainless manifold with my stock turbo currently. i see that that guy is selling the fullrace manifold made to suit, but im dubious about buying a manifold that looks pretty similar to the one i already have.

5 posts up from you. It fits, but no water cooling, and it's very tight.
