  1. Been alittle busy over the past month building my new 180sx. Pictures speak louder than words. Massive thanks to Billie(Ziptie and Fish(2jFish) for the shell and my dad(Ray), brother(David) and friends for helping out with the very late nights/little sleep over the past month. How it sat when i first went to see the shell. unrolling squashed into a garage, couldnt tell there was a car there at first Spent a couple of months trying to find the motivation to go work in the cramped confines of the garage to get it into a rolling state. But once i did it was quickly rolled out and onto the trailer and down to the workshop I gutted the interior of all wiring and carpet Ordered in some Rexkelway tubs these took around 3 weeks to arrive While we were waiting for these to arrive i ordered in my wide body front and rears from Japan, David chopped the rear guards, welded and seam sealed etc for clearance The tubs finally arrived and David got stuck into making them fit The tubs fit so well and look awesome! David also removed and gave the wheel as much clearance as possible inside the guards so my 18's would never scrub. By this time the front and rear guards had arrived from Japan. We test fitted them up to make sure everything went where it was supposed to Also purchased a new bonnet Origin Labs Type II Carbon fiber (painted though ) Ray primered everything up then we test fitted making sure that everything bolted in the correct location with the right gaps In between all of this there was alot of sanding.... Then paint went on! Once the paint was all finished i started on rewiring the interior and putting it back together David and I then lowered the car onto the engine subframe and gearbox We then fit up the wide body and put the interior in Painted the rocker cover crinkle red David repaired the exhaust system and added a Jun BL muffler Added more body parts, lights etc Replaced the windscreen and got the new roof lining retrimed black. Got a wheel alignment, drove home packed headed back to the workshop and drove it down to Port Melbourne onto the Spirit of Tasmania. All the work was carried out over a 4 week period so that i could drive to tassy for a Drifting weekend roadtrip. Nearing completion a few days we had hardly any sleep, the car is not finished by all means as there are a number of things still yet to do on it. I'll update with higher quality photos once i get them off the DSLR. 4. Estblshd just released a feature on my 180 http://www.estblshd....e-the-grey-area
  5. Well the door trim is fixed as well as it can (the black bit is abit loose causing the issue. Will need to replace the door card at a later date to make it nice and tight. Next on my list of things to do is the low fuel warning light on my dash. The light is there just need to hook it up to the fuel pump assembly.
  6. yeah just the idiot upholster that did it before didnt put enough glue on just the edge not that noticeable but it is to me.. i can fix it. i'll do it tomorrow. and yep headlights work really well. its a momentary switch so it either goes in bursts so sleepy eyes or hold it up and it goes all the way up then stops. then on the other switch hold hit down until they go down or in little bursts.
  7. so i finally got motivation to start finishing off the little bits and pieces ive neglected to do since building the car..First on the list was the headlight motors. Id tried when i first did the wiring and thought id screwed up (i hadnt infact id done it right but the left motor was burnt out and didnt work). So i wired the headlight motors up to 2 momentary switches and mounted them on the dash in the carbon blanking plate. Once id finished tried the switches and only one side worked...id wired it up correctly.. so i went and bought another motor. I put it all in and it had play....so i pulled the motor apart and found the disk/cog was shattered in 4 pieces....so i pulled my old one apart and moved the cog from that to the new motor. Once it was all in i finished wiring up the wires and it works Next on my list of things that bug me.. interior trim fix - some of the material is pealing away from the half arsed job the upholster did initially on the retrim.. stereo install - sub and amp/inclosure to be installed.
  8. That and it includes 3rd party insurance unlike down here. heres a pic of my old 180
  9. also went to a type x meet in melbourne. Was good having so many of them together
  10. Some recent pics from a car show i entered. The 86 next to it we helped build won best of show. also got myself a window banner now
  11. VicDrift - DriftX

Just an update on this. Its this weekend! There is also a show and shine organised for Saturday via the guys at Zeroclrearance https://www.facebook.com/events/946958978667023/
  12. Hi Guys. Trying to get our track car rebuilt and ive got another bottom end (which was fine apparently 150 across all 4) now. ive put a cometic head gasket in (thinest available) and torqued it up with arp head studs. We had some problems getting it to run smooth on the dyno so we decided to comp test it. it made 90,90,85,90 across the 4?!??!?! thats way too low. what do you think we could have done wrong. im 100% sure i setup the cams correctly with the lobs pointing to 10 and 2 and the cam gears in the correct possitions on the correct location on the chain. and the cas in the correct location (as it started first push of the button once i did this). any ideas? thanks neil
  13. it means i can get a tighter bend than a mandrel in there. and if you welding is good enough it wont crack. but will see might be using the old front pipe as its been modified so its flat to hug the floor (cut that up and make a new front pipe to match the new dump).
  14. Noticed a hair line crack in my already repaired Frankenstein dump pipe so finally bit the bullet and got another one. Got what looks to be a tomei expreme dump and my brother is making a new front pipe lobster backed bend to keep it nice and tucked. So got it on the hoist and noticed i need to rotate my tyres due to camber wear. so got a couple of things to do. Also considering driving up to sydney for offset kings at WTAC this year.
  15. Pinky's S14a

ahhh didnt realise you went the same way as me on the rear housing.
  16. next turbo id go is a GT2871r or something around that spec. or go external gate turbo setup for the sound (and boost control lol but mostly the sound)
  17. Pinky's S14a

2 years have flown by. good to see it wasnt parted out like so many along the way. out of curiosity why you moving away from the Blitz turbo? that thing is the shiznit.
  18. Channeled my inner Rone....
  19. Next on the list to do im going to clean up and paint the fuel tank black to make it look cleaner from behind and spend some time polishing the muffler and drive it more Cant wait for some better weather.
  20. Damo went over to Japan a couple of weeks back and was kind enough to pick me up some Bride padding for the Vios. Put it in place so the seat belts/pants dont wear the seat out. Also painted up a type x lower light garnish as i was using a repaired one from the old car which sat abit squint.
  21. Check out Savana motorsports in SA they are the origin dealer and they have a sale on atm i think for kits $700~
