  1. sr20 oil ?

If you change oil frequently then you won't need to buy the most expensive oils. Unless you're doing some racing where significant heat is introduced for a period of time in car's components - even the decent brands (not top of the line) will suffice.
  2. All diff EXPERTS help please !

I'm not sure if S14's are the same as S15 in this area - but, check the hose connecting to the boost sensor unit that is usually found around the front right strut. The hose on mine has gone crunchy and split so it wasn't completely sealed as it connects to the boost sensor. Replaced it with a new hose and all problems solved.
  3. sr20 oil ?

    Nissan recommends 10w-40
  4. s15 with 17's & 45 profile tyre

i believe you can but you can't lower the car. you might have to set it at stock height. or you can set camber to at least -3 front and rear. It will depend on how thick the tirewall would be on your chosen tyres. Not sure about +15, though
  5. sr20 oil ?

10W-40 3.5 litres Popular synthetic brands that people use: Royal Purple Motul Mobil I would suggest Royal Purple. Runs smoother than Motul for me I haven't used any other oil than the first 2.
  6. Car seizure law ruled unconstitutional

I think, if someone is careless enough to offend repeatedly then jail is the most effective way to ensure public safety. Eg. you have a repeat offender of drink driving who is average in terms of income. The gov can punish him as follows: 1. Put him in jail. You've taken his freedom to drive and endanger others. 2. Crush his car. He can buy another car or borrow someone else's car. Either way, he can still drive and endanger others. Taking property is ok in some areas of the law. Eg. if it was acquired through criminal acts such as selling illicit drugs or fraud like the Fonzy scheme (ripping people off using financial instruments/investments/derivatives). The gov can sell your property to try and recover some money for the injured parties. But taking your car because you can't drive for shit and follow rules is just a waste of time. Put the guy in jail and you've taken him out of the public domain. As mentioned previously, confiscating the car used for drink driving is like confiscating the knife/chainsaw/hammer/screwdriver that someone used to kill someone, instead of putting them in jail. You can always buy another car/chainsaw/hammer/screwdriver to repeat your crime.
  7. wakefield park best lap times

Thanks - I saw that but thought it was more for pros since they were using semis and have decent power

  10. 17x9 +22 on s15 rear

It's fine - no scrubbage even using 235/45 Advan Neova AD08 which have chunky sidewalls. Roll and slight pump on the guards are required but no verandah flares/lips. Street alignment with no more than -2 deg camber is attainable. Of course, you can get track alignment too without scrubbing. See my dp
  11. why does th oil line need to be raised on one side and not the other? I'm assuming you raise it to get the oil squirting at the lobe? backwards as it - shouldn't the cut out side face the camshaft as if it's been cut out to provide clearance for the cam lobe?
  12. sorry to revive an old thread. Just 1 question about that spacer - what does it actually do and why does it look backwards even if installed correctly?
  13. S15 Suspension/allignment

are the wheels/tyres the same size and offset?
  14. S15 Knocking only when engine is warm

    1. change oil to 10w-40 2. get it on a dyno and check for engine knock 3. if knocking persist then refer to pagge 11 of Nissan S15 Service Manual - Engine Mechanical
  15. awesome build! can you give a detailed comparison between the standard 6-speed and the z32 gbox (with the 4.11 diff) in terms of street driveability? is it slower to get to 60/80/100/110 km/h and what revs does the engine sit at?
  16. sorry to hijack thread but can you fit the ring gear (sorry not sure what it's called) of the R33 to the S15 to change drive ratios? This way, i dont have to change the half shafts as well?
  17. is my s15 running too lean

more info on how to read the plugs please? sorry, i dont mean to hi-jack
  18. What BC BR Coilover Settings?

S15 with 8kg front/6kg rear spring rates, whiteline swaybars front (set on medium) and rear (set on hard) Street: 5 clicks from softest front and back Track: 25 clicks from softest at the front and 18 clicks from the softest at the rears
  19. wider fenders would have been less work? oh and you get to keep decent tyre patch/alignment
  20. S15 Suspension/allignment

    1. 0.1 of a degree will be hard to notice 2. either the arms/chassis are bent or the body panels are out of whack (eg. the amount of pulling on the fenders on one side is more than the other side - meaning more clearance on the side that gets pulled more) 3. it could be the alignment machine that is stuffed. Did the machine go up or did they leave it on the lowest setting - these machines have auto-level when you raise them up. Leaving them down is not the best for readouts because the ground that they sit on may not be perfectly level, hence, affecting the readouts (happened to me)
  21. Brake upgrade question

No, unless you're using Skyline calipers then no need to change the master brake cylinder
  22. Street/daily tyre reviews

I have had Advan AD08s and RE001 in 235/45/17 - The AD08 have thicker and stiffer sidewalls compared to the RE001. - I feel that wet grip is slightly better on the RE001 but I have not aqua plane on any of these tyres. - RE001 is plenty of grip on the street but felt squishy and I managed to overheat it on the track - Just did a trackday this past Sat and the AD08 just has a lot more grip and I did not manage to over heat these - Prices: $1300 for AD08 and $900 for RE001 (balanced/fitted) - AD08 is not as loud in terms of road harmonics. If you hit bumps then you will notice more rattling and creaks due to harder sidewall
  23. s15 turbo upgrade + supporting

sorry to high jack but im looking at a similar set up...just trying to get opinions on the T518z (opinions for both 8cm and 10cm). what do people think/experience with these turbos?

  25. Another goddamned Westinghouse S15

Very clean and nice S15! In reference to your time at Wakefield, I too did 1:18 with the RE-001 (235/45/17). I only have 3" turbo-back exhaust and shitty benndix (?) pads which were glazed at the end of the day. Also running the same coilovers with near factory settings. Will be going again on the 28th with Neova AD08s, track alignment and QFM brake pads and see how I go
