  1. yup! hence the western world loves a good old fashioned, tax paying B52 bombing run, because we havent been unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end....yet!
  2. Have you ever called in a complete CASEVAC for someone? it can be a fairly drawn out thing when time is crucial. Don't talk about what you don't know. Still its probably the way we are headed, but judging by most military contracts it will be total shitfight if/when it ever makes it into production. and in my experience and knowledge casevacs tend to be a lot more informal and blunt during actual combat, particularly if u are calling on internal net of a unit that is not shared with any other units or attachments. Under stress, trauma and emotions one will probably skip half the serials required for a formal casevac. If the personal communications systems of this exo suit can bypass all that BS and not clog up the net, then its a win win for everyone. and concussion can kill u also LOL, take WWI for example, during a British advance they found a large bunker filled with over 30 dead germans, absolutely no marks, no physical wounding or signs of battle. Took them a while to realize that a giant howitzer shell had probably landed on top of their bunker and the concussion killed them all. Anyway, this suit is a step forward towards the dreams realized by Robert Heinlein who wrote Starship Troopers nearly 70 years ago. His visions of armoured troopers with highly advanced inter-squad communications and vital signs monitoring, mobile combat, training and deployment and combat doctrines was so revolutionary that the book is compulsory reading for many military officer schools even 70 years later, I read it many times when I was at Duntroon, and I still go back to it every now and then - its no where near like the campy but awesome movie:)
  3. tell me why, im curious sorry man, didn't mean to sound like a dick... i dunno, in no way do i mean this about ur photography, but i find them a bit dull... like it kinda reminds me of like wedding photos and i find them the most boring dull shit in the world to look at, even ones by the best photographers... for me, it evokes no emotion or interest.. bland, pastel kind-of colours.. and some of them kinda feel 'heavy' on one side to look at(1,2)... i think in that setting a really bright dress would have worked wonders.. and she also looks like she's trying really hard to pose in a few(1,3,4)... and the way she is sitting at the piano looks like shes trying really hard for the camera and it's not natural to her. dont take that the wrong way.. cheers dont worry I know what u mean, I just got back from a 13 hr wedding shoot tonight with my colleague, and we took some fantastic shots but in the end, they are boring to me because after doing 19 weddings as of today, I find them dull too, no matter how creative a photographer will try to make it. like I said, this is commercial work, and its boring and most of the time u follow the guidelines of the client and their needs. someone told me ages ago that u should always judge a photographer by his own individual works not of that for a client - that way u can see their real side and skills.
  4. shes not a model LOL she is actually the musician whom the website is for, had u guys bothered to check the website haha, so I dont blame her for being awkward in her poses and expression
  5. used 2 Bowens Gemini Esprit 500w strobe lights, fired wirelessly on CELL mode by a Canon 580EXII on camera, on CELL mode any flash from any camera will trigger the big strobe lights to go off, even compact cameras:) up to a range of 15m indoors, and under 10m outdoors most of the shots here were done with only 1 strobe to create more shadows on the other side, not to balance out the lighting
  6. yeah i know hey hehe, I actually have shots cropped closer, but this one was to show shes actually lying on the piano with roses, with the keys visible, otherwise it would just be another bed of roses. its hard for commercial photography, when u have to adhere to the client's needs and requirements, and trying to juggle your own creativity and input too, its always a compromise
  7. just sharing some pics from a commercial shoot i did in Sydney over a month ago, for a well known pianist in Australia and Asia for her new album and website - www.vananh.com.au we used a Steinway & Sons piano, a Steinway D (the Ferarri of pianos at over 90k for one) which belongs to the ABC studio down the road, I pushed it into an underground carpark with sandstone walls - as we wanted to depart from the usual cliche images of pianists sitting in gilded performance halls and polished, this is more raw and a stark contrast to the cliche image. Notice the piece of paper in the 1st pic in top right hand corner, I havent cloned it out in my copy but the web design team fixed it, I think photos will also be used for Manning Cartell - www.manningcartell.com.au, and Leonardo Salinas www.leonardosalinas.com.au, who provided the dresses, and Givenchy and Chanel for the shoes etc
  8. Photographer needed!

  10. CAR SHOOT - Private Clients

if you're thinking its me because of my critique earlier, youre wrong. if i had those opinions i would have said them... hell i dont even know which canon model is which no no, not u their style of writing and the knowledge to check exif data is a dead giveaway. still waiting for the troll to post up their recent works so we all can see.
  11. CAR SHOOT - Private Clients

Yeah I apologize if that first comment seems harsh u know:) no intentions thats my thought too, I have a feeling I know who it is hehe true, but not fully Sidd! u should join www.modelmayhem.com - there are plenty of aspiring models and amateurs on there looking for pics for their portoflios or fun - in doing TFP shoots (time for photos), as in u dont pay them, they dont pay u, and u both walk away with photos end of the day. Thats how I started before going professional. of course! I would like u too. I was talking to my director and we may have secured the contract for some Sydney musician named Michelle Martinez, so will have to fly over for that to shoot her website, album cover etc, in studio and locations. Will need your assistance with that and will contact you on facebook at some point.
  12. CAR SHOOT - Private Clients

do u know how a raw converter works? it is part of photoshop but not the real photoshopping itself, raw processing is the same as someone doing the same things in a dark room with film - u know how long great film photographers such as Ansel Adams spend in the dark room? if u allow the camera to do the editing for u when u shoot in jpeg, as in let the camera decides HOW it wants the photo to turn out and NOT U? just like dropping off a film roll at a lab for someone else to edit no? THEN DO IT! lets see your amazing work. Dont tell me or anyone here if u can do it better, we would LIKE U to put ur money where ur mouth is and prove it. Show me some of ur recent work for commercial clients? Ok I'll make it easy for u, private clients then, or just fun shots u took. I want u to show it publicly on here, do not PM me. my personal sponsorship is getting 2k a yr to spend on any Canon stuff, u think all sponsorship is the same? I will be having my exhibition for charity at the Adelaide Hilton after mid year and also at the MCA in the Rocks in Sydney, and also my wedding photography stall at the Luna Park wedding expo in June in Syd. please feel free to come talk to me in person. oh wait, u just signed up to this forum to cause shit...........too bad
  13. CAR SHOOT - Private Clients

thanks mate, I can confidently say there was ZERO PHOTOSHOPPING in these photos - all done during the Raw conversion process - CS4 raw converter allows for selective processing of any part of the photo without affecting the rest - I can change white balance on the car, whilst keeping it the same elsewhere - u simply cannot do this in the past, and I find it invaluable and wished it was implemented years ago, thats how long I have been waiting for this feature! 2nd 580EXII bounced into brolly to the side of the girl, and selective lighting in raw process As i stated earlier in the thread, the clients - being these girls - want a very dark and atmospheric feel to the theme of the shoot, so I have to follow their needs and requirements. Otherwise I could have made it anything I want it to be, bright and colourful with pastel colours and sunshine lollypops - and lose their faith in me not to mention any future clients through referrals the final version handed to the clients the flash was removed, so my bad for not doing so in this one:) one has to be very confident in their skills and creativity to go far, its hard enough being a near full time photographer and competing with shite house amateurs and photographers who are also vying for the same clients and in the same demographics u know? Confidence and professional attitude and approach is 70% to securing the job already without even showing the client your porfolio, the harsh truth of a very competitive market.......
  14. any one work in a camera store?

should buy what I am advertising then:) its a good semi pro set up, for beginners and part time professionals shooting
