  8. Lens Talk

Yay! Sounds like everyone has a bad case of G.A.S (Gear Aquisition Syndrome) I myself currently have: Canon 18-55 and 55-250mm Standard Kit Lens. - They are alright, good for a couple turns @ Winton, but slow on AF. Canon 1.8f 50mm. Love this lens. Best bang for buck you can buy IMO. Tokina 10-17 Fisheye. Got this as I wanted something "fun". Can get some amazing landscape shots running at 17mm where it isnt too "fishy". Between myself and Jason12 (housemate) we swap and change between our lens' so we have a good selection between us. (His new 300mm + Macro was fun to use at Drift Attack.. Pictures up soon.) But I am currently looking at getting myself something that covers a bit more of a range. (mainly for more motorsports as that 55-250 gets a bit short at winton, and the AF is slow as hell, but would really like something is a good all rounder) So here is a bit of a run down. Camera: 550D Budget: under 1k, but really, I wouldnt mind pay the extra for L series Please feel free to gives some advice/opinions on the below choices. (L Series might be a pipe dream, unless I can find something 2nd hand, or sell a kidney) List I have got so far: Tokina AF 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 - Bit slow @ 4.5 $500ish Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM $650ish (IS for a bit more?) Obviously a drop in zoom, but ohh the crispness) Sigma APO 120-400mm f4.5-5.6 - Bit slower than I really would of liked, But I could make it work) Sigma APO 150-500mm f5-6.3 - A lot slower but, 500mm zoom means I can shoot from the carpark at Winton Canon EF 300mm f4.0 L IS USM $1.3- Bit over Budget, but gives me the zoom and Crispness Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 L IS USM - Even more over Budget - gives me enough zoom and the crispness... Regards

  13. 1990 Nissan Pulsar Hatch

Photography is not mine... as much as I wish it was... Clarence from Tanglca.com did it for me. Was well before my "photography days"... check out some of his stuff, really loves his lightpainting Needs new wheels, 15's with semi decent offset.
  14. Howdy Thought I would put up a bit of garage thread for my lil buzz box Pulsar. Owned her for a couple years, CA18DE still yet to blow the bottom end, even after constant abuse. Needs a bit of work to bring her back into her forming glory. Including roll fronts, respray it, wheels. Then maybe find a new gearbox and do clutch/cv's at the same time.. It has never let me down, without me giving it a reason to... Here is a bit of a list of what is done... Engine: CA18DE K&N Monster Pod filter Exhaust: 4-1 Extractors 2.25" through with stockish rear muffler Hi-Flow Cat Suspension: BC Coilovers (F: 6kg / R: 4kg) Nismo Top Front strutbar Selby Front lower Swaybar Selby Rear lower Swaybar Nolathane Bushes all round. Camber Bolts in the front (GTiR) Wheels: N15 SSS Brakes Up Front (AD22vf) Slotted rears. 16" Enkei RP-01 Wrapped in 205/45/16 595's Modifications: Trust wheelnuts Stereo Audio / Visual: Astra formula rear bar and side skirts Langley headlights Langley side indicators Langley grille New clear front indicators Milano series 2 rear garnish Rubber front lip Fog lights mounted behind mesh. Full Reebok interior. Estimated Power: Stuff all.... Few shots of what she used to look like... She looks like this now... (Ass raped a Tiida and am too lazy to fix it all up properly..)
