LEVEL 2 is back for 2013 The L2 catagory will be back for 2013. Selected rounds of REPCO PRO TOUR in 2013 will also run the L2 catagory. It has come to our attention that the gap from STREET class to PRO is much too great for a lot of drivers with very few taking what is a big step requiring .bigger budgets, better equipment, more running costs & greater commitment. This has resulted in the sport loosing good drivers who did not wish to get too serious & move to Pro but wanted a catagory that was basically a fun class & also a stepping stone to bigger things when their situation permits it. For 2013 L2 will be run at selected REPCO PRO TOUR rounds as their own series. The L2 series would be run at the QLD rds of Pro Tour with their own new format. The new format will consist of 2 warm up /practice sessions followed by 2 heats to determine the grid for the 8 car final. All entrants will be permitted to run the end of event expression sessions. The L2 series will start on Feb 16 & finish on Oct 20 at Archy (tbc) & consist of 5 rds with a possibility of a 6th rd in Sydney. The WINNER will receive S1000 cash + a free spot in the Pro Tour Grand Final in Nov the 2nd & 3rd in the series would have the option of a "wild card" spot in the PRO TOUR final. Series prizemoney will be paid to the top 4 + trophies Round winners & 2nd place will receive prizemoney + trophies. Points system will be 15--12--10--8--6--5--4--3--2--1 Top qualifier will receive a bonus point. Fees & pricing would be at a reduced amount than the Pro class. SDA PRO TOUR comp rules will apply (except points specifically for Pro class) The new 2013 regs are available. There will be a tyre rule (240TW) which will prevent the use of "trick" semi slicks. Tracks to be included in the L2 series would be Qld Raceway, Stanthorpe & Archy. The "NEW L2" class will be limited to 16 cars & drivers who have never made top 8 in any Pro Tour event in 2012.
