Hi guys, I've done a bit of research on google etc etc but still can't find an answer so hoping you guys can provide some insight. Story is: My s15 has been off the road for 2 weeks as I needed to change the starter motor and get a coilover repaired that had a sprung a vicious oil leak. Of course, I disconnected the battery during this period and after re-installing everything last night, I've realised that my AVCR is no longer working. Boost is stock, screen doesn't light up (not even the buttons). For those in Melbourne, you know it rained like an absolute mofo last night and unfortunately I had the bonnet up from working on it the previous day and the engine bay got rained on hard. Question being, is it possible that I've fried the AVCR due to the water getting into the engine bay? Does anyone have any experience troubleshooting this kind of problem and can you advise what I should be checking? Sorry but I'm not very electrical minded. Mechanical is ok but electrics just don't like me. Thanks all!
Hey guys have searched for this and most of the threads i found were on different brand of boost controllers such as HKS vs GREDDY etc my question however is how have you guys increased your boost levels and how do you keep your boost in line. From what I've been looking at there are 3 ways to control boost which are a bleed valve, Electronic Boost Controller (EBC) and an adjustable wastage actuator. So from your own personal experiences or if you work in a shop experience with other cars (no customer names) what are you using? Have you had any problems like creep or spikes? are there any major pros and cons that will really change the outcome of how boost comes on and is controlled depending on a bleed valve/EBC/adjustable actuator ? Just a lil background info I am thinking of turning up the boost on my s14 which is running stock t28 turbo and boost. I was initially looking at a bleed valve but have started shifting towards an adjustable actuator as a friend mentioned that bleed valves can creep and as I only want to run 12-14psi an actuator may be a better option. Also saw the mighty car mods ep where they installed an EBC and it doesnt look to hard so this may be another option for me as well. Thanks for any help/advice and opinions FenrirWC
