  3. Hey guys, I recently had to reshell my S13 Silvia and my new shell was originally a CA18de, while my original was SR20de which I've now converted to turbo while reshelling. When I went to start it and after cranking for a bit, I noticed it didn't even sound like it wanted to start at all. So since the fuel pump was priming (although it doesn't anymore which is a mystery to me now since fuses seem good) I figured it wasn't getting spark, so I decided to test to see if it was getting spark but holding a coilpack with a sparkplug in it against a bolt on the engine while cranking the motor. After I saw no spark there I decided to crack the test light out and locate the issue. I started at the coilpack loom and quickly found myself at the ECU and realised it wasn't getting any power, which I then traced to the plugs where the passenger headlight is (which I rewired for the conversion according to what I found on the internet) and wasn't getting power to the ECU there either. I also noticed that the EGI relay is only getting power on 1 pin with the ignition on, where as the other relays in the fuse box get power at 2 pins. Is the EGI relay related to the ECU getting power? If so, where does the relay get it's power from? Or would it just be that I wired those plugs at the passenger headlight incorrectly? I just colour matched the wires as per what I read. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I can't figure this out for the life of me, among other electrical issues such as the cluster backlights not turning on, foglights not working, rear parkers/brakelights and only one headlight working, but those are all the least of my worries at the moment.

After Screwing around with an old aftermarket ecu for a whole day and playing with very coarse injectors pulse increments using 450cc injectors I finally spat the dummy and decided to integrated a sr20det 50F00 ecu , loom and Nistune board to our customers van which we earlier converted to 4G63 turbo (rvr evo ) engine with all the factory 4wd drive line. The end result was exactly what i was hoping , perfect cold start and warm start, excellent mixtures and stable idle during warm up and very stable mixtures through out the whole map. The gtir rnn14 AAC controls idle as if it was fitted to the vehicle by Mitsubishi on the production line, this has been a pleasure to tune, the set up responds to every key stroke almost like a motec The power output is more then we had hoped with the tune 70% complete and the last of the steady state tune done at 5200 rpm, we have 820nm peak torque @ 3400 rpm , 144kws, 13 psi @ 5200 rpm with a very conservative ignition map as it's running a small td04 turbo which makes full boost by 2600-2700 rpm, I'm amazed at how well it tuned and it was a pleasure to tune This really proves the flexibility and quality of the factory Nissan ecu's especially with the Nistune boards fitted, We will be trialing nistune fitted ecu's on a few different vehicles in the future , we are hoping that all motor enthusiast would consider running Nistune as an alternative to aftermarket ecu's. This would really benefit budget builds and the smooth factory drive ability plus all the features ( cold-warm start, accel enrich decel inj cut off, crank enrich etc...) work exactly as they should and this would be very time consuming and expensive to achieve with an aftermarket ecu.   10. S15 Engine in S13

    Hey everyone! I'm only new to the forum, signed up because I'm well and truly stuck. I've searched online for hours or multiple forums to no avail, so I'm hoping some Silvia guru can help! I've dropped a S15 SR20DET into my S13. Everything is bolted up, just need to make some new intercooler pipes to fit. My issue is with the wiring. I'm completely clueless; no idea where to start. I have the S15 ECU and wiring loom, so the engine side of the wiring is done, easy. It's the wiring to the S13 dash that has me stuck. I can't even find any sort of diagrams to help me. There doesn't seem to be much info out there regarding S15 engine's in S13's. However, the guy I bought this S15 engine from had it running perfectly (dash and air con, etc included) in his S13. Unfortunately he isn't very available to get information from. Obviously, a step by step walk through would be amazing hahaha But I understand people wouldn't have time to do that for me. So any help would be useful! Advice, pictures, links, anything! I will post pictures of the build when it's finished I'll also gladly post any additional information or images if needed, just ask.     I have converted a S13 CA18DE from an auto to a manual. Is ther any difference in the engine mapping between the auto ECU and a manuak ECU? The cardoesn't seem to have much grunt under 4500rpm.

Hey ladies & gents some of you would have possibly seen other threads discussing my problem (Car randomly started idling really high)along with a few others and one of the resolutions was changeing the ECU Just about to grab another ECU to test if this is the issue before i move to the next thing and this popped up on evay... so im wondering if anyine knows if this will do the trick if my ECU is playing up? or should i just grab another SR20DE ECU? PS i dont want to tune my DE as we all know there really is no real gain but cheaper than another ecu if it does the trick... if someone has an ECU laying around in sydney i can use to test if mine is shagged would be awesome?   13. I was driving home from work the other day and as I came around a corner the revs just died as if someone had just turned the key off in my sr20det vct s15. I got it towed home and as I started checking spark, the thing started again and ran for the rest of the night with a little bit of an issue with catching the idle after revving. Today turned it on this morning and it ran for 20 seconds and died, it's not spluttering or anything, when it runs it runs perfect, but it will die then not start again, if left for about 20 mins or so and try again it will start and idle again for 20 seconds or so and die again, ive checked the pump is working, lines are clear,there is no spark when it dies and wont start again, I have re earthed everything, tried unplugging iacv, a/f/m ect ect. the self diagnosis is showing knock sensor, cas and ignition respectivly, but is this a common characteristic of a cas? I allways thought if they broken then thats it, has anyone else had any experiance with a similar problem, knowone I ask seems to have an idea, because if its not the c.a.s then i dont know what else to try apart from e.c.u :/ please help
