Most road going cars wouldn't need an exact viscosity in order to get from A to B. But for some race cars with highly spec'd engines, a certain Viscosity Setting is required to get the most out the engine. Viscosity Setting is not a widely known topic as it is usually reserved for the technically minded engineers of well financed race teams. Having a greater knowledge on lubricants could make all the difference at the track and on the street.
