S13/S14/S15 Replacement Engine fan - 60% more air flow The GKTECH replacement engine fan has been designed and engineered in Australia specifically for us with the intention of pulling more air than the factory item. Surprisingly, this was very easy to design and the design that our engineering firm came up with is based around the design of a propeller. It is a direct replacement clutch fan for the S13/180sx, S14 and S15 SR20 powered Silvia's/200sx's.   3. I guess this belongs in the drift forum as this is the start of a dedicated tube chassis drift car with the goal of us putting them into production. Gary Castillo from Design Craft Fabrication in California is building the prototype car (if you haven't heard of Gary, google him) based around a 240sx that is being converted to RHD. The prototype will be built up to a running stage and then it will be stripped down, the complete chassis will be 3D scanned and then we'll optimize the design further on screen with the idea of a tube chassis being put into production assuming all goes to plan. Here's how the $900 car started and here's where we're at so far. The build is expected to take around 10-12 weeks and MotoIQ will be following the build. NOTE: this is pounds, not kgs At this stage the specs of the build are still being decided (really fast) as we're in talks with sponsors however an SR20 is 100% guaranteed and we'll be running a Z33 6 speed box thanks to nissanparts.cc ($1,532 brand new!), along with a new range of chromoly suspension arms that we'll be releasing in the coming months, our billet aluminium knuckles front and rear, Wilwood brakes all round, Enkei RPF1's, etc. etc. Enjoy Greg

  5. We are a bit behind schedule but we do have some progress. Shown here are some of our V2 prototype billet 7075-T6 knuckles that will go through a series of on-car and bench tests. At this stage I would estimate we are 2 to 3 weeks behind schedule however we are doing everything possible to speed the process up. That said, we won't be machining 100 sets of knuckles up until we are 100% happy For those that have missed it what we have here is a CNC machined billet 7075-T6 aluminium modular knuckle for the S chassis (S13 and S14/S15) with Chromoly spindle. Featuring: - spindle height raised 40mm's to correct roll center - modular steering arm (choice between 4 steering arms at the time of ordering) - adjustable steering arm to correct bump steer - modular caliper mount with ABS provision (choice between 2 brackets at the time of ordering; standard and extended bracket to suit 4pot caliper with 324mm R33 GTR rotor - S13 version is: 2.52kg which is a 24% reduction over standard - S14/S15 version is: 2.63kg which is a 31% weight reduction over standard - adjustable camber +/- 2.4 degrees - mix and match when ordering. The GKTECH braided brake lines are a direct replacement of the factory lines and are stronger (read: more reliable) than the factory rubber lines which are prone to breaking but they also eliminate the spongy feel of the standard brake lines. This reduces the contact patch of your tyres and thus available traction. Rear camber arms will correct this issue. I'm sure most people have seen suspension arms with busted welds. We don't have this issue as none of our suspension arms have any welds. (NOTE: the traction and toe arms in the photos on our website have welds on the U end piece, the final version which is in production now will NOT be welded) We understand the importance of a good camber arm and there were a number of requirements that were give to our engineer in the brief to ensure that these new V2 camber arms were the best on the market; light weight to reduce unsprung weight, strong to ensure they didn't break, have an angled end to ensure that low cars or cars with subframe risers didn't have issues with the camber arm hitting the chassis rail, and they needed to have good adjustability. Weight, adjustability and an angled end are easy, strength on the other hand in critical and as such, we hired the services of a Melbourne based engineering firm that is renown for being the best of the best to run an FEA analysis for us (Finite Element Analysis). The image shown with arm in purple is what is called the "FEA mesh" and is used as the basis for and FEA. Here's how the process works: • 3D models are created from 2D CAD drawings • A basic representation of the wheel, upright and suspension links are included in the test to allow more representative points for load application and constraints • Suspension hardpoint locations are measured within a tolerance of 5-10mm And the end result: Based on the loads and assumptions used, the arm is certainly strong enough for the intended application, with stresses remaining well below the yield strength of the material • The safety factor for the static loadcase when compared to material yield strength is ~1.35 • Basic fatigue assessment indicates the arm is capable of sustaining over 1 million cycles of the assumed 1.2g cornering load which equates to 5 x 1.2g cornering loads every kilometer for 200,000km – this is considered to be conservative for this vehicle application. You will be hard pressed to find the above sort of information for ANY camber arm or suspension arm on the market. Sold as a pair these wheel adapters bolt on to your standard hub just like a normal wheel spacer however 1 of your standard studs is then replaced with a longer stud which runs through the adapter and acts as the 5th stud.
