thanks, i've definitely gotten better over time, but i still have a looong way to go. it's certainly great to have such nice models to practice on though....

for editing i might crop it and adjust the contrast/balance, usually not much else really. on that one i played with the focus a little, other times i might darken/change the hue of the sky to bring out the picture a bit more, but in the end the photo itself has to be good, i have soooo many pics that i couldn't be bothered spending more than 20 seconds on each one. for eg on the '06 NT trip a few months ago i took over 1,000 photos. about half of them are worth seeing, but only about 100 of them are worth really showing off, and maybe 25 are worth printing out. it's a tough gig. :S

sometimes, you just get lucky and spot a great photo op.... B)

Im not sure about adelade but in melb / sydney / qld cbds ATLEAST one in 10 is a 150K or above ride.

I practice what i preach but i plan to set myself up well enough so that 300k on a car is poo change. at this stage my money is better off working rather than loosing me money. Im sure i could scrape $300,000 if i had to but im more interested in making more cash. Take my tip and read that book too.

Going by your logic you dont understand money because you dont have a $300,000 car?

Im sure you have your money working elsewhere like CBA at a whoppin %5.25 ;)

well, your stats leave me wondering mate - i've been to Melbourne and Sydney plenty

of times recently, and no, one in every 10 cars is not 150k.

You'd be lucky if the price of ten random cars chosen would equal 150k

My profession currently is commercial & corporate insolvency, so I think i've got some handle

on how money works

righto, here's one of my favourites so far... we were out at Glen Helen which has some really nice windy roads to really push the cars on, and when we got out there we saw a helicopter.... so we hired it. :)

i got some great footage, and my mate took the pics:

here's a pic of the little chopper we were in. i added music to the helicopter clip because obviously it was too loud and choppery, but also because i couldn't resist humming the *M*A*S*H theme song... :P

here's the cliff face of Glen Helen, it's quite a nice looking place even without cars there.

i see exotics like these every day in sydney ... i work in and out of all the big companys in the city and when i go to park my van in there i see all kinds of cars like you wouldnt believe ... there are alot out there you just rarely see them cause they drive to work and home again which is probably a short distance seeing they have that much money

my favourite carpark is probably macquarie bank and price waterhouse coopers hehe nice rides in there alright ...

Is that a 997?

yeah that was the first 997 turbo in oz, seriously fast, beyond *anything* you can comprehend, but only with perspective (more later...). we had a crapload of drag races between a bunch of the different cars (F430, 2 x Gallardo, 4 x M5, E55 AMG, etc) and apart from an e-gear Gallardo there was nothing that could get even close to the F430.

then we thought we'll give the new Porker a go, the drag went from about zero to 280kph, at the point it went past us they would have been doing 200-220kph, and the 997 absolutely *creamed* the Ferrari by a good 3-4 lengths. sounded crap though. :(

i never did anything in the car apart from sit and make vroom-vroom noises, but the thing is a few other blokes had a pax in it (nobody could drive it except MOTOR mag editor for various reasons) and didn't think it felt very quick. one guy with a Gallardo SE and an M5 said "we tried half a dozen launches and it was a bit disappointing, i don't think i'll bother getting one"... but when we saw with our own eyes what it could do in direct comparison to the best Ferrari can offer, we all just sat wide-eyed for a while in astonishment.

No offence to porsche fans here but I think 997 is like a step backwards? looks like they just copy the lights off an old porshe. Prefer the more "modern" look of 996. But that's just me.

I'm a sucker for ferrari :P

frankly i don't know how to tell them apart... i mean i've spent heaps of time around soooo many porkers, i can tell if one is a GT2/3 or if it's just a run-of-the-mill speed-beetle, but other than that distinction i'm pretty naive.

guy i know who had a white GT3, had open exhaust (or something) on it and man did *that* sound great, also another bloke had some old red porker, 2.3RS or something i forget... he brought it out one morning and we just laughed our tits off the entire time as it completely drowned out all the other cars (gallardo, 308GT4, M3, something else...) and seriously from 300m away sounded like a frickin messerschmidt!! later that day he was taking it to alexander downer for a test drive, don't know if he bought it or not.

It looks like a step backwards because they went with more of a 993 look, which is a good thing in my eyes as the 993 was the best looking of them all. A lot of other people agreed with this, hence the slightly more retro look. The 996 got a lot of criticism for it's looks.

Ash: The RS would have most likely been a 2.7RS/RS replica, but the colour scheme seems wrong?? I guess it depends on how old it was, because as you said you can't tell them apart :)

If it was a 70's model then it would have been a 2.7 or 3.0

loving the carrrrrrrrrs! =P

i work as a valet parker at crown casino, and no jokes, in one night you park SO many nice cars its un-fkn-belivable. i wish i was that rich!!!

one night last week, in the one aisle, we had THREE S65 AMG's. they are v12 bi-turbos for those who don't know and are worth about $450k each, not inc on road costs, etc!!!

we get lambo's and ferrari's parking uptop, if we're lucky the owners will let us park it. fk they are bloody nice cars. once we park one we have to go around the outside with a friggen magnifying glass to make sure there is not ONE scratch on it!

m3's, m5's, m6's, 911 turbo's, carrea 4s (sp?), ferrari 430 (i think thats right), gallardo and gallardo drop top, murchilargo (lol sp!?) and many MANY other exotics. lol i still get excited when these cars pull up. i just wanna jump in a rip it up.... but have to drive them slowly, but i give it a good rev. hahahaha

mad job!
