havent replied to much topics before even though I have been a long time member but this is probably one of my favourits so far hahah

First thing first, Me goreng is the bomb!!

I use to regularly eat 2 packets with 2 fried eggs and chopped up lettuce but sometimes its anything goes really. Have been eating it for yonks now and still do but not as much as its probably not the healthiest things around.

With cooking the noodles i find that i prefer to cook it in a bowl with boiling water for a couple of minutes then draining it as the noodles continues to soften from the heat. So even though it might seem like its a tad hard it wil soften abit.

Also a small tip guys not sure if anyone has mentioned it. To get every last drop of the chilli sauce and dark soy sauce sachets you put the sachets on the noodles for a few seconds after you drain the water and that will soften the sauces allowing you to squeeze it with ease and get every last drop.

Hahahah i may sound like a me goreng freak but thats because I am. If it was healthy I would live off it.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but a little FYI for the pro's.

As the water is boiling before you chuck the noodles in, chuck the 3 sauce pack in the water for about 5-10 seconds and push it around with the fork a bit. It will make them drain out of the packs heaps easier.

Not sure if it was mentioned previously, but to save money you can buy them in bulk (box of 40).

The cheapest I've found is $9.50 from a grocery shop in Springvale (VIC). Equates to about $0.24 a pack...

Anyone found cheaper?

In VIC that is! Fill us in ^_^

Cheers,

Andy

you heat up the sauces still in the pack, cut the top off of all 3, then turn them upside down and let the sauce drain out. you never once touch the sauce................ <_>

i did mention its for people who want to get "every last drop of the sauce". Turning the sauce unside down is not going to get you every last drop is it Einstein.

lol 12 pages about mi goreng!

i usually put the sauce packet in the water for a couple seconds so its easier to mix. its a bitch mixing around that oil part when its like a brick.

heres what i usually do.

mi goreng

fry 2 eggs

chop up some bacon/ any sort of meat and fry with eggs

if u can be bothered chuck some vegies in there.

extra chilli sauce is a must!
