drift-wagon 0 Posted May 13, 2014 Ok guys doing gtr diff, shafts & hubs into my s13/180sx I was wondering if there is anyway of maintaining 4 stud? Need to run gtr hubs as the shafts are larger then the s13/180 ones. I already have 4 stud wheels & didn't really want to search around for 5 stud wheels the same as I already have. blingcommander 278 Posted May 13, 2014 Only way i can think of: Press hub off carrier, Knock out wheel bearing Knock out wheel studs, Fill stud holes with weld, Lather front down flat, Drill holes for 4 studs, Machine flats on rear side of hubs where the studs sit against, Press in new bearing, Press assembly back onto carrier
drift-wagon 0 Posted May 13, 2014 Would the holes that are been filled be strong when redrilling to 4 stud as I guess afew new holes are going to come close to the old ones?
blingcommander 278 Posted May 13, 2014 Sorry, 1 would be re-used and not needed to be filled. Welding shoud be fine coz the back of the stud will be pressing against original metal in the hub, not the welded part
