Injector sizing with E85?

Recommended Posts

i was wondering if anyone could give me a some information on what size injectors they think would be needed

to make 360rwkw on E85 without being at 110%?

from what i have read i would be looking at a minimum of 1400cc injectors.

does anyone have some suggestions on brands aswell?

i have been looking at the ID range they are redone bosch injectors but they are quite pricey

any input would be greatly appreciated

Just get Bosch 2200cc injectors. They're around $110 each and will hold good, steady AFRs at idle, cruise and part throttle. I've had mine for over a year no issues and a few mates have done the same.

really.... i saw them and couldn't believe the price. i just automatically thought at that price that

there would have to be idle issues and tuning issues!

Though i have found on numerous occasions that overly priced parts are not worth the money all the time.

well iff you are personally running them and have no problems i cant really say no :P

Here's a video of how well it held afrs at idle at around 850-900rpm. That's with 228 degree VE cams too so lower pulse width than usual. And that's just with Nistune!

Just found this flow test. Skip to the 1min mark of the vid for results. Pretty damn close!!

The big Bosch injectors are very closely related to their other OEM injectors, so they can be made in quantity (ie. inexpensively).

I'm about to go e85 too...

Do these injectors fit under the stock s15 plenum?

Also what is needed for e85 conversion (brands?)

In tank pump?

Fuel hose?

Fuel reg?

Injectors?

I'm running a nisstune ecu and 2871r.

2871r maxes out at 280rwkw @24psi.

1000cc injectors or 740s at 4 bar will get you there on e85

You'll need a new fuel reg, new rail and hoses are piss easy.

There are kits that bolt up under the stock plenum, others will require a plenum spacer. If you're not too cluey then best to get the kit that doesn't need a spacer and contain everything.

Possible way to save money is buy an eBay rail, 1/2 length injectors, those EFI stock FPR to rail adaptors, and about 2 metres of normal fuel lines.. remove top half of plenum. Mock up injector height, then trim the spacers till it fits..

Fit everything back together, rescale injectors and rip skids.
