Which S chassis do I buy?!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I get off Ps in just over a year and I've got a bit of dosh saved for a s chassis ($5k to be exact), now I was originally going to buy a na s chassis when i first got my Ps but couldn't justify the price. I've always been set out on a s14 zenki but for some reason s14s have shot up in price with some going for more than s15s as I've been monitoring the market for the passed 2 years for when the time comes.

This is where I'm stuck, do I continue saving and buy a s15 200sx (rather the cheaper insurance of an adm s15) or do I still try my luck with an s14.

What's a fair price for a good condition close to stock s14 s1 manual ?

And should I buy now before they take another hike in price or I should I hold off until I'm off Ps.

Sorry for noob rant, Fil

I personally wouldn't pay more them 4k for a s1 14.

There ugly there heavier and the motors always seem to be rat shit in them.

15s can be picked up for 9k if your patient, nicer smoother cleaner lines and a later model car.

But if you only have 5k then the only option you have is a s13 or 180.

surprised at the s14 price hikes, and the big drop of s15

I would save up more cash and go for a 15

5k will net you an s13, not 14 or 15. If you actually find a cheap 14 or 15, and have saved that much, make sure you do a REVS check and inspect for rust or chassis damage.

Bought this s14 off gumtree for low $5k mark in November. On road after fixes, rwc and 6 months rego was $6k flat.

Have put about 12,000 km on it commuting and only lost a fuel pump along the way.

Yeh just going to continue saving, I always do a revs check before buying a car but thanks for the heads up,

I actually have been looking at buying an auto s1 s14 as they're cheaper and converting it to manual.

A few have said to avoid buying a zenki, whys that ? I do like s15s but I've had my mind set on a navan kitted zenki for years!

Plus I'm scared I'll bin an s15 first time out on track

Thanks for the advice

Nice work for 6k on road.

Stick with the cannon, will come back into fashion when blast pipes become unfashionable :o
