WARNING potential rebirthed 180SX "Type X" being sold at Sydney dealer

Recommended Posts

Just making this thread if any people are planning on buying this car:

He claims its a genuine Type X, but I noticed on his website he has this advertised.

http://www.edwardlee...coupe-1996-9146

Which is a Type S, for those who don't know its basically a Type X with a N/A motor which can't be registered in Aus as said in the description.

I noticed a few things that are identical to "both cars"

- Wheels/tyres

- Same stickers and positioning on the radiator support

- Both have same tired fabric near the drivers seat recliner handle

- Straps in the boot

- Speakers in parcel tray

- Paint chipping on the wipers

- Tweeters

etc

He also claims its a 98 model, but its actual a 97 when I ran through the "new" VIN via Nissan FAST.

Screencap:

I may be wrong, if I am please tell me. But this was just a heads up for anyone interested in buying it.

The amount of articles and claims against him I'm surprise anyone still buys from him. I think he changed his name now from Edward Lee to Edward Lee imports because of some legal shit.

But I think this is the add for the car in the video

So let me get this straight- he couldn't sell that type x (that has been up for sale for years) and now he has put all the parts to create a fake type s? or vice-versa?

Looks like two different cars to me unless your claim is he has built a Type X from the Type S.

I'll put this to bed. After a personal phone call from phill him self.

He put his hand up and admitted to making a mistake, the mistake being that he purchased the type s from miss communications with his people in Japan. He offered it to me as a track car knowing it can't be regoed.

He also has a type X there and that sexy but WELL! over priced purple one.

It's advertised as a S and also states that it can't be regoed. There is a white S and the White X.

Type X's look so sexy in purple. Looking for a new daily and debating whether to buy a Type X or spend that money on my Escort. If I go a Type X I'm thinking its defiantly having to be purple.

Just by a ford laser and spend the change on escorts

I'm a tight ass dew, I don't pay for escorts. I just use Tinder.

The standard move for Edward Lee's and/or dodgy import dealer is advertise a car that doesnt exist, and tell you its in stock, but when you turn up, it *just sold* but they have another one just like it out back.

Which is a Type S, for those who don't know its basically a Type X with a N/A motor which can't be registered in Aus as said in the description.

"My commy is basically an SS, except it has a V6"

Type S had more in common with the Type R than Type X, aside from the kit. And why can't they be registered? Edward Lee's aside, I have seen Type S's on the streets.

The purple and white ones are stupidly over priced for the market.

If he can get 20k for that purple one I can get 17k for my white modified one.

I still don't get it... they look like the exact same car... down to the finer details as mentioned in the OP. Im still skeptical they are 2 different cars.

That's because seen one seen them all, they all look the fkn same all across the world.

S... Lip Crome tail lights a and obviously a silver cover and no turbo.

X... No from lip normal tail lights and a black cover with a 25 on it.

Told me he wanted 7k for the n/a as it sits, i giggled and followed by saying "it's died weight you'll be lucky to get 2k on a good day"

How any of these yards turn any of there cars is beyond me. That purple thing is a 10k car and 10k loosly.

Any stock X shouldn't be sold for more then 8k but it will sell, some young bloke will come in put it on finance end up paying 25k for it smash it and be left with no car.

I would never EVER defend any of the 3 vintage importers on parra rd out this time around there's nothin dodgy goin on, there's just two cars that look similar.
