Touch-up paint on boot floor

Recommended Posts

Hey all. I want to touch up boot floor paint is s15, however i don't know where to get the code from. Car itself is white but bootfloor looks grey/silver.

Is it just some sort of fancy primer? Or what did Nissan use to paint boot panels with?

It's likely a grey base coat. I've seen the same thing on my 180sx in the boot and front upper rails, and it's also white. They probably paint grey primer > grey base > white base > pearl clear > clear. I don't know if there's a paint code for it, being [probably] an intermediate colour, so it might be easier to take it to a paint shop and see what they can do. Perhaps they have a hand-held scanner for colour-matching.

Ok, sounds like a primer + dynamat will be the solution for it.

Wanted to avoid using heavy dynamat...

keep in mind most primers are porous....so perhaps avoid unless you want to do a topcoat as well.

An alternative could be Por15 or similar.....
