SR20DET Max Power Output (RW/KW)

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Im contemplating on buying an S15 Jap Spec or an R34 GTT and just want to see what kind of power they are making.

Having owned an R33 GTST for 3 yrs, I know the RB engine back to front however im not too knowledgeable on the SR20DET so would like some feedback.

In tems of stage 2 mods:

- Turbo Upgrade

- Injectors

- aftermarket ECU

- Fuel Pump

- FMIC

- Tune

How much power has the SR20DET known to produce with the above mods?

Just for a comparison, an RB25DET with above mods can easily come close to 280 - 300rw/kw on standard internals

Regards,

Sarkis

There are people pushing 280rwkw, some over 300rwkw with those sort of mods.

Depends on the turbo you use and if you wou don't mind a bit of lag...

If i was aiming for figures like that i'd be upgrading from stock internals or at least budgeting for a rebuild

**Edit**

Don't R34s run a different engine to a R33 (neo or something)?

a 6 cylinder 2.5 litre will always have the advantage, with the stage 2 cams and assuming you have all the other equivalent supporting mods and the right ECU/tune you will be able to pull out 300kwatw weighting 3/4 of what a boat does.

it also depends on what you are gonna use the car for. If it is a show off at the red light kinda thing and at the drags the Rb25neo and upper castor arms will be better.

if its a true sports fun car and handling go for the s15.

If your chasing big HP then go the 6 cylinder it will always make more power, If you want a fast light fun car then go the S15 with mods.

If you want to scare your self get a S15 and drop in the RB25. its easy and you get the best of both worlds.

imo there is more potential in a s15 than a r34gtt

rb25's dont have all that great of aftermarket support especially not compared to a sr20 anyways.

jap specs =

Thanks Guys! Its a hard choice especially cause the S15 is a lot lighter than the R34 making it quicker on short sprints. I guess the choice will come down to finding the right car at the right price...

Cheers
