xcuzme 0 Posted February 8, 2008 one of the first evo owners on nissan silvia here 05 evo 9 way too much work done to it back on the road soon with a cosworth engine WOW, Must have costed u fortune. Cosworth create bottom end? 2.0l or stroked 2.2l ? Bigger turbo i assume as well? Cheers i was going to buy the whole short block but it just seemed too much, so i bought all the cosworth internals, gaskets, cams, bolts etc and a new mitsu block here (which is what cosworth use anyway), going to do all the machining here and save myself 3k. shipping would have been a bit exxy too hehehehe. in the end it will be the same thing as the cossie short block without the name engraved on the block and the extra price tag didnt see the need for going for a cosworth head because of both the price and not needing that much from the engine so just porting and machining the head and adding titanium valve springs and retainers. slightly oversized pistons so it should end up being about a 2.05l. didnt go 2.2l because it doesnt rev high enough for my liking definately bigger turbo, but ill get it back on the road with the standard turbo first to run it in (and to save a bit more cash), then put on a greddy td06 ls2-25g kit (the new updated one) heres all my goodies and this is my car cant wait to get it back on the road, its been too long
VII GSR 0 Posted February 8, 2008 Ah yer! Ive seen it on the forum Why did u sell it?
vr4nut 157 Posted February 8, 2008 Bought a block of land! I'm being sensible and downgrading for a bit. On the upside, a Stagea can have downhill bikes chucked in the back. Evo seats don't fold down - their only shortfall!
i2obert 0 Posted February 10, 2008 yeah im comming to that point to sick of the cop attention and thinking it is time maybe i get a VIP style car or a Ute somthing for the pushbike in the back or can tow theTrailer but we see

Turbz_13 0 Posted February 14, 2008 haha, soon enough. i had then engine rebuilt so i want to see what kinda power i can get out of it first. then i reckon i will look for a 6 does it take much to make 200-250awkw's out of these machines? will the standard inturnals take that? Turbz_13 0 Posted February 17, 2008 wow - impressed, doesnt take much to get decent power out of the 4G63!!
(cool)dude 0 Posted February 22, 2008 slightly oversized pistons so it should end up being about a 2.05l. didnt go 2.2l because it doesnt rev high enough for my liking whaaat? i knew you (usually) loose compression when stroking, and you have to regain it (i forgot how...), but i didnt know that effected any kind of high rpm power.... i assumed you get the bottom end power (since its a bigger cc'ed engine) but i assumed it would still rev high and produce power at high rev's, if not more, then the sameee... xcuzme 0 Posted February 22, 2008 with most motors (and in particular the evo), when you go 2.2 or even 2.4l what you gain in bottom end power and torque, you lose on the top end you gain a fair bit of torque but the engines dont like to rev as much due to the changes in the bore and stroke. some people have still made high revving 2.2ls and 2.4ls but it takes a lot more work (and money)
