engine rebuild

Recommended Posts

hey guys

my s15 is on 90 000k's on the clock, yer its fairly high hahha, bloke that use to have it had to travel far for work

but anyways

when it reaches 100 000k's is it recommended that any car reaching that would need a engine rebuild?

i thought it was just the timing belt that needed changing, and all that regular shit

whats the verdict?

No,

No timing belt its a chain,

Before you get flamed, I suggest search, cause ns will hunt you down like a serial rapist working as a P.E teacher.!

Sr should see around 200 before it needs to be cracked open, Have seen a few making 200+rwks and done more then 200,000km's

if you treat the SR nicely, you should see way over 100,000km's.

only rebuild if you need to, your want bigger power (over 250rwkw in my eyes to be safe)

haha yeah you definately dont just rebuild a car cos its done 100,000kms. As if 100,000 is that high anyway, If it aint broke then dont fix it.

i dont think a stock engine with regular check and service will ever need rebuild at 100,000khm..

nah, just record your compressions and compare, that'll give you an indication thats if you ever do compressions

i had a 4age that did 320,000km had the headgasket replaced once and only stopped working when then rings gave in lost compresion and heaps of blow by

^ right, you guys must be lost, here you go

anyway, unless there is something wrong with your motor, ie, low compression on one cylinder or using excessive oil, etc etc, there's no need for a rebuild, but if you have money to just throw around, a rebuild with forged pistons and rods, complete balance of all parts, port of the head, heavier valve springs and a large set of cams, can never hurt :) along with a suitable turbo upgrade, as well as all other supporting mods

but as for your 100k service, check in the manual as for what gets changed exactly

looking at maybe

-Spark plugs

-All filters, oil, air and fuel

-All oils, engine, gearbox and diff

-Coolant flush/change

-Brake fluid flush/change

things like cleaning AFM and coils doesn't hurt either, for preventative maintenance
