How to get 200kw out of sr20det with std turbo

Just how reliable is the relocation of a Z32 to the cold pipe just before the AFM?

 

Heat and pressure has what affect on them longterm?

from the experience of alot of people on here i have found it is quite reliable, some have been running it that way for several years like that for years with no issues at all.

Yep im ganna go a T28 from an s15 with a front mount and front/dump pipes.

Should be looking at over 180kw with standard ecu tune.

and how many psi is it safe to run the stock t25 at?

stock s13 sr injectors will start seeing full duty at about 180-200rwkw, the s15 injectors are about the 240-250rwkw mark.

 

personally wouldnt run a t25 any higher than 12 psi, any more and its out of its effieciency range.

When i had my s13 sr20det, i remember speaking to tilbrook guys and they said you can run 18-20psi and a high pressure reg to help the fuel out which can with the standrad t25g push out 180-190rwkw BUT This would not be a safe reliable way of doing it, so I would NOT recomend it!

 

Thats why i didn't do it and changed the turbo over to a gt28r turbo from HPIAB.

i RECOMEND you stop taking your car to them and find some where else a t25g on 14psi stops making power at 5500rpm belive me i have tried and have the dyno sheets to prove it

He was talking about injectors not turbo. But I think 200rwkw from 370cc injectors is a little hopeful, I wish it were possible though :(

S15 injectors maxing out 240-250rwkw mark? More like 200.

hey guys this sound interesting.

 

i got a 180sx blacktop

 

did some mod to it.

t28 from s14 ( not to sure,thats what ive been told by machanic by looking from the front of engine bay)if not t28 then its t25stock turbo.

full apexi catback exhust with apexi apexi down pipe

greddy mspec fmic

i think z32 afm with KN pod

turbosmart boost valve controller at 1bar

 

how many kw you reckon i have at that mod?

 

will add manifold, fuel reg, injector,t28bb,dump pipe and apexi avcr later on.

after all that is in i will get it tune.

 

how many kw i will get will that mod?

You won't need either for the power you will be making. You will just be wasting at least $500. Put that money towards a new turbo

Hey guys, got a pretty much stock 97 180sx black top sr20det and was looking to get as much reliable power as i can out of the stock turbo.

What can the stock turbo's run safely?

I was ganna get a PFC maybe D-Jetro dunno yet and dunno what else i'll need.

t25

powerfc + boost solenoid at 12psi

fmic

ces racing dump + front pipe

high flow cat

Z32 afm + pod filter

98 fuel

 

tuner says the injectors and fuel pump are hindering power

 

looking for 210-220rwkw soon with:

t28bb

550cc injectors

walbro fuel pump

powerfc retune

prob make it with 100octane fuel?? :unsure:

t28+stage1 hks cams+cam gears+555cc injectors = 200+rwk

 

Dont worry about stupid fuel regs and aftermarket manifolds, all that stuff will slow you down and make the car feel laggy, fuel reg is the biggest wank mod you can think off.

no need to by a z32 afm i guess?? save $300

 

you still need a map sensor module, lol I smell crap.

I think not having a CAT will give you a fair bit more top end as well....depending on the quality of CAT you run normally. I think my cheapo x-force CAT has broken up, cause my car shoots flames now! correct me if i'm wrong! However, not a good idea if the car is for the street!

 

Also, not really relevent, but my T25G was 'accidentally' running at 17psi for a good 6 - 9 months. I know this isn't really safe, but it went well for a stock turbo. I think you occasionally find a freak T25 that will do this. When I upgraded the turbo and took out the T25 there was basically no shaft play at all! But anyway 17psi on a T25 won't get you 200rwkw either way!

some more tune time <_>

 

its all in the tune..

 

and that will be my engine mods..then drop the rest of the coin in suspension,so i can use that power!

A regulator is not a fuel pump, I make 180rwk on 1 bar without it.

my mate made 184rwkw on his JDM s14, all he had was a cat back and pody and on 13psi standard side mount inty, and injectors wernt maxed out

theres no chance u will do it with a t25 and a t28 will be at its limits seeing 200 day in day out. no such thing as budget power.

mines similar to that setup and read on 2 dynos here in sa pretty much the same figure 205kw...must be both happy dynos thenn..i dont give a f**k anyways got plenty of grunt ...go stick your figures up ya butts

At a pressure ratio of 2:1 ei. 14.7psi (15psi) at 75% eff rating the turbo is spinning around 120,000rpm which is getting pretty hot so even if it could transmit this power with hot air it wouldnt be as dense as a colder charged air so wont make as much hp.

not to mention at that rpm and pressure rating the compressor is only capable of making around 250hp which converted to kw is 186

i can see 200-210 on a t28 believable but on 15 psi? nope maybe 18psi with a water injection or something to cool that charge back down.

I'd be interested to know if anyone tried pushing a t25g with a good e85 tune. I'm interested in doing this myself before I upgrade the turbo
