old school hip hopers talk to me

Recommended Posts

Been listening to hip hop for a good 10 years now grew up with more the old school beats, and gangsta shit not really into the mainstream style shit but was a massive fan of em back in his first few elbums which where never realest here and circled the net some of his shit had some descent beats and lyrics well all his raps got some crazy lyrics his a nutter but yeah grew off him late marshal mathers lp shit turned way to poppy for my liking and even the few good songs on his later album i didnt like listening for the fact his shit went way to poppy for my liking.

anyway the other week radio start sticking in the odd crack a bottle track and im like f**k you know what this is like the old em i dig it, havent really gone to look for any more of his new shit yet but when i get time was gonna check it out.

but this is what got me thinking... f**k i havent heard new shit for years hahaha i been listening to the same old shit for the past maybe 4 years.

I dont buy cd's and my mates who i grew up with listening to hip hop are in other states so im sort of out of the loop so to speak as of late.

Basically i wanted to know if shit is still real or has just about everyone sold out to mainstream hip "pop"

i want to hear some new dre,jay z, nas, xzibit, snoop, nate, dpg, naughty by nature (one of my fav's) and so on so throw some shit at me, youtube vids or what ever i want to see how things have changed or if they havent.

Everyone from the West has sold out even moreso than before.

AZ still kicks it oldschool.

Produced 2005 but you'd swear its mid 90's. Albums called A.W.O.L.

DJ Premier beats FTW.

Found this the other day.

Wasn't much of a fan of kanye west but this knocked him up a notch. Now he's at 1.

Featuring Rakim, Nas and Krs-one.

Gangstarrs Owners is worth aquiring IMO.

AG / Andre the Giant

Kool G Rap

Smut Peddlers (only released one album and it's dope)

Micronots

Dilated People

People Under the Stairs

Raekwon

Jeru The Damaja

Afu-Ra

Group Home

You might dig some of them, anything from the 90's you'll find good. Tho some of these are pretty underground and are hard to get hold of.

Enjoy.
