Diff Whine

Recommended Posts

Recently had Redline Heavyweight put into my diff.

Ever since I got the car back, Ive noticed a much more noticable whine under accelration and also under engine braking.

My mechanic told me it takes a ocuple of weeks to settle in or something.

Im really not happy about the whine and worried somethin aint right.

Thoughts?

I can hear a slight whine from my diff too.

I dont know the last time the oil was changed in it though...

I too would like to know some idea/thoughts from more experienced people.

if your running subframe lock rings or solid gearbox mount it will whine

may just be more NVH coming through the floor due to the pineapples.

if your really concerned would have to hear it / look at it.

most of them whine when tight.

its not loud, just not something i had before.

i removed what i assume was a factory mount and put in an aftermarket rubber covered one.

maybe its just stiffer than stock and hence a bit more whine.

my actual concern was that redline heavyweight was a bit too hardcore for a stret driven car and was not getting upto operating temp
