I think around end of October beginning of November you'll start getting your bigger species cruising through. Can't wait!!!

Also just read in a fishing magazine of 1kg+ KG Whiting.. I think I have a new target on my list. :P

I have a raider and a berkley drop shot, so far I prefer the drop shot but have only used the raider a little. And the dropshot is very similar to my old starlo stix which I snapped in the mangroves the other week.

Pretty much whenever I go fishing I'm either hungover or still drunk from the night before.:lol: It's all good unless you go out on a boat when hungover. That is the only time I have ever been sea sick and that is the worst feeling ever.

It's gonna be highly likely, looking to be the best weekend weather we have had in quite a number of weeks, with strong tides aswell which always helps. Just the stupid city to bay fun run is on if I want to head down the port way between 8:00- 9:30

Though id let people know, It seems as though kmart have some good deals on seme cheap fishing gear.

Surf rods for $33 and rod combos for $20

I might pick up a couple thrash rods which i wont have to care about and can lend to people without worrying about them stuffing them up.

Question for the sharkies here..

What is the exact purpose of the balloon? Like a big float to hold a big bait at the proper depth? Surely it's not something as simple as a bite indicator..

The main use of the ballon is to keep your bait at a desirable depth but i have found that when you have an off shore wind they are also great at catching the wind and dragging your baits out to sea, it works a tread when your using game gear off the jetty thant can only be casted bout a meter ^_^

Salmon have been schooling at south port.

one of may mates got 40 Squid around the pole off sea cliff.

And the pat has been producing some good fish.

lucas... your just too cool for school!

my yak is 2grands worth. my gear tho not expensive certainly aint cheap shit either. if im yakking into open ocean such as down south then id like to at least know the local conditions.

why mount 2 yaks to the jackaroo and drive 20-30km away from where we live.. to find out its impossible to launch..

a smart fisherman checks his conditions before a trip out.
