EPISODE 3/ PART 2 - UPGARAGE

after drooling over the cars in Flyrat for a while we decided to headover to UpGarage, most UpGarages also have alot of stuff on display outside the store thats worth a look, one thing that caught my eye straight away was a set of Hoshino's for $300 with tyres

IMG_4982_zpscd788d64.jpg

on display they also had there old D1 machine

the turbocharged 20valve had a Trust TD06 hanging off the side of it

IMG_4983_zpscf6140d4.jpg

IMG_4984_zps0fafcadd.jpg

IMG_4985_zpsc0620264.jpg

heading inside it was just as good as i remembered it

IMG_4986_zps07b446eb.jpg

IMG_4987_zps439f9f34.jpg

genuine Hayashi Streets, no rotas here f**kers

IMG_4988_zpsbcad91a6.jpg

one set of wheels that had me tempted was this set of mint AVS model 6's in 17x9 +22 for $600

IMG_4989_zpseeb73886.jpg

i stared at these for a fair while thinking and thinking, i did need wheels for the 33 as id sold all the ones that were on it to Ryan, i decided to keep walking around for a bit :)

from memory this RB20 was $150 with loom and ecu lol

IMG_4990_zpsb47e1f7a.jpg

Ryan spotted 2 Bell helmets on the shelf aswel, one was his size (extra massive) but was $500 and there was the one below, it was my size and only $100, it still had the Bell helmet bag, instructions, stickers, tools ect all in brand new condition, i bought it

IMG_4991_zpsb4c3b0ed.jpg

plenty of big brake set ups on the shelf aswel, never seen Impul calipers before these were cool

IMG_4992_zps18fc7bc1.jpg

after purchasing all the stuff we wanted we decided to take a walk around the area as theres alot of car yards near by, it also gave me time to think a bit more about those AVS's, one shop we came across was called "KNIGHT" unfortunatly they wouldnt let us take pics inside but i snapped this sneaky one of the Lambo they were working on out the front

IMG_4996_zps29e8687d.jpg

we went inside to check out the cars and I thought f**k it how am i gna tell everyone my stories on the internet with no pics? phone on silent bitches

the cars inside this place were f**king amazing, ill let the pics do the talking

IMG_4997_zps2bf1445a.jpg

IMG_4998_zps1147e49a.jpg

IMG_4999_zps3cddb723.jpg

IMG_5001_zps2497ebb6.jpg

IMG_5002_zps720afe71.jpg

IMG_5003_zps5b17e9eb.jpg

IMG_5004_zps0b0b9b7f.jpg

IMG_5005_zps6152f78d.jpg

did I mention the cars were amazing? there was a 240z at the door that one of the mechanics was seriously cleaning with a toothbrush

after about 45mins of thinking i thought f**k it, went back to UpGarage and bought the AVS's

IMG_5006_zps6d07efc3.jpg

i didnt want the tyres so I had to wait for them to be removed, in this time a few cool cars pulled up in the car park

IMG_5007_zps9481a042.jpg

IMG_5008_zpsd5baf91d.jpg

having been to this UpGarage before we knew there was another huge one just a few kms down the road so we headed down there while we waited for my tyres to be removed

cool notch back in the carpark when we got there looked like it was fresh out of the spray booth

IMG_5009_zpsd246370e.jpg

IMG_5010_zps935ccc0e.jpg

i snapped a pic of these for Frenchie, didnt even know Oni's came in 9" wide, especially in 5 stud and 16"

IMG_5011_zpse161d2fa.jpg

IMG_5012_zps64d2167c.jpg

IMG_5013_zpsacdbed95.jpg

18x10.5 Panasports were very expensive at around 2 grand

IMG_5014_zps7c14fbbd.jpg

damo and i bought a pair of spacers at this place as i needed them for the r32 gtr wheels i planned to run on the front of my 33 for the extra track

we headed back to pick up my wheels and attempt to fit them in our tiny hire car

IMG_5016_zpse11e6320.jpg

the above 2 UpGarages are probably the best weve been to and always deliver with the good stuff, next up will be some awesome drift workshops we stumbled across accidently

EPISODE 4 - YAMAGIWA CAR YARDS

after jamming my newly purchased wheels into our hire car we put another UpGarage into our navigation and set off to the next one, the good thing about japan is most businesses open at around 9-10 and are open til 8pm so we still had plenty of time

little did we know we were heading into an area called Yamagiwa in the Kanagawa prefecture that was littered with awesome car yards and and performance related workshops, it was this afternoon that we saw some of the coolest cars of the whole trip

the first yard we stopped at was full of drift ready cars just sitting ready for purchase

this C33 Laurel was jammed in the back corner and was pretty beaten up

IMG_5017_zps0f1f333e.jpg

id say 80% of the cars in the yard were JZX's

IMG_5018_zpsed694bf5.jpg

this 100 MKII was mint, fresh paint and looked like it had just been washed

IMG_5019_zpsd13ecdd9.jpg

IMG_5020_zpsbf6810ab.jpg

IMG_5021_zps022ed1de.jpg

jzx's everywhere and all modified

IMG_5022_zps5bc42cf4.jpg

this red 100 looked to be set up for D1SL or similar

IMG_5023_zps5698d2de.jpg

IMG_5024_zpsa9ab5ff5.jpg

stripped interior with twin fixed back Bride seats

IMG_5025_zps6bad802d.jpg

IMG_5026_zpsefaa7846.jpg

realy nice street spec 180 with r33/r34 gtr staggered wheels

IMG_5027_zpsf0a02298.jpg

from what we could tell this jzx100 was the companies drift car

IMG_5029_zps29fe02ac.jpg

next up we headed back on our journey til we came across a GTR workshop called Veruza, so naturally we stopped

this R32 parked out the front was perfect in my opinion, Gunmetal Grey, Nismo LMGT's with big chunky tires and not overly low

IMG_5032_zps9fda0677.jpg

IMG_5033_zpsce9186d9.jpg

IMG_5035_zps236addc2.jpg

they also had a nice line up of GTR's out the front for sale

IMG_5034_zpsbbb4dbe4.jpg

IMG_5037_zpsaf9bddd7.jpg

heading inside the showroom they had 2 very nice R34's

IMG_5036_zps181688d3.jpg

they didnt have much on the shelf for sale but everything in there was either stuff id never seen before or lots of NOS stuff, Ryan managed to pick up a Nismo BMS with the old school logo on it for $20

still within walking distance was another car yard, this one had a few older cars like s13's and r32s ect

nice FC on Impul wheels

IMG_5038_zps7ee504f1.jpg

suprisingly this Ferrari 308 was just chilling ammongst all the cars

IMG_5041_zps1aed46ee.jpg

IMG_5043_zps18dc46c2.jpg

next to it was this very nice R30 with fender mirrors and Watanabes

IMG_5042_zps3be293a6.jpg

the paint was a bit ratty but this was my favourite car in the yard

IMG_5046_zpsf9de9472.jpg

from what I could tell this Detomaso Pantera belonged to the owner of the yard and was a massive suprise to see there

IMG_5044_zps61df6609.jpg

IMG_5045_zpse9773eab.jpg

just down the road we also spotted this wheels shop called "Fit Auto Parts Trader" i didnt get many pics here but the shop was pretty cool, had a nice r34 gtr out front aswel as a black JZX100 putting tyres on his skid wheels ;)

IMG_5048_zps6f84e2d7.jpg

directly next door was a very dodgy looking drift workshop, all the guys in the shop were extremely young and most cars were pretty beat up from drifting, i didnt take a single pic here but ill steal this one from Ryan coz this JZX90 was absolutely perfect in my eyes, was so low

31-2525.jpg?w=640&h=424

after that we called it a day and started to head back to our hotel whre we found a nice suprise in the parking lot, white 458 Italia

IMG_5050_zps00a6d219.jpg

IMG_5051_zpsf3cea217.jpg

thats it for this episode, stay tuned lol

if its your first time then just go to as many as you can but if you're specifically looking for awesome stuff then any of the "GT" stores are the best

EPISODE 5 - LITTLE SHOPPING AND OLD SCHOOL WHEEL HEAVEN

setting off on another day of adventures we were off to try and find the massive Tamiya store in Shimbashi

IMG_5060_zps6b85b0f6.jpg

IMG_5061_zps8fc13048.jpg

IMG_5062_zpsa2c45071.jpg

IMG_5063_zpsa62303df.jpg

IMG_5064_zps2b0d7b35.jpg

as usual our shitty Japanese navigation failed us and we ended up in the completely wrong place, thankfully we came across another hobby store that had a shit load of cool models/ RC stuff

IMG_5068_zpsc0e60188.jpg

one thing Ryan and I were craving was Moss Burger, if you ever go to Japan you need to get this, i could eat it day and night so gooooood!!

IMG_5071_zps5a54a052.jpg

IMG_5069_zps3f5ada75.jpg

after stuffing our faces we headed over to Don Quijote', these stores are usually around 7 levels and are like kmart, Whats New, target, 2 dollar shop all rolled in together and on steriods, they have everything, they are easily spotted by the blue Penguin mascot they all have

IMG_5072_zpsee28e37b.jpg

everything from sexy outfits, to Gucci earings and backpacks shaped like a grenade

IMG_5073_zps816f2ffd.jpg

IMG_5076_zps6326612b.jpg

IMG_5077_zps321cf7be.jpg

this one also had one level of arcade machines, so we got some photos done in the booths haha

IMG_5078_zps72a20942.jpg

IMG_5082_zpsa1852e5a.jpg

after buying a few presents for back home we set off on more UpGarage hunting

IMG_5079_zps199125d8.jpg

IMG_5080_zps7a4d0479.jpg

we visited a few average ones through out the day and got a few small things like magazines ect but nothing major

IMG_5083_zps47267984.jpg

IMG_5030_zps54e70cb7.jpg

on our way through one of the small towns we spotted a large shack filled with old tyres and wrecked cars but had a few average wheels out the front, but the place looked abandoned and was held up by scaffolding ect, we didnt stop but now that we were on our way back and had some spare time we decided to stop,

HOLY f**king CRAP am i glad we did, this next oart was probably the highlight of my trip, little did we know we were walking into old school wheel heaven

IMG_5084_zpsf3019734.jpg

IMG_5085_zps11d8035f.jpg

at first it didnt look like much, there was no room whatsoever to move around

IMG_5086_zps30066b6e.jpg

but as we kept walking through all these passages that let all through out the place the cool wheels started appearing

IMG_5087_zps8394b8fc.jpg

IMG_5088_zps9c5536b3.jpg

it was cold, wet and dirty but holy f**k there was wheels stacked to the room and along above pur heads aswel

IMG_5089_zpse4449194.jpg

IMG_5090_zps0db4723f.jpg

and it just kept going and going and going, i couldnt get the smile off my face

IMG_5093_zpsffca9a09.jpg

IMG_5095_zps69314bdd.jpg

IMG_5096_zps38eedba9.jpg

IMG_5098_zpsfa2fa45e.jpg

the pics can not even give a slight idea of the ammount of wheels in this place

IMG_5099_zpsafbfc410.jpg

after going through numerous isles and passages the owner led us to a set of stairs and pointed up, so up we went

IMG_5100_zps4681a46a.jpg

another god damn level of exactly the same thing

IMG_5101_zps7a21d02f.jpg

IMG_5102_zps752ae344.jpg

looking down through the holes in the floor

IMG_5103_zpsecdaf531.jpg

couldnt beleive he had a pair of these just sitting there covered in dust

IMG_5104_zpsa642f439.jpg

hayashis, ssr's, longchamps ect everywere

IMG_5105_zps03df6742.jpg

IMG_5106_zps47bd46d3.jpg

Modena's, Sterns

IMG_5107_zps0ab98cf6.jpg

IMG_5108_zpsd6c1069c.jpg

theres was a shitload of MK1's

IMG_5110_zps4c8a215d.jpg

finishing with that level I couldnt believe he let us to another set of stairs and pointed up, even the f**king roof was full

IMG_5111_zps62fdd025.jpg

IMG_5112_zps8ace1876.jpg

Starsharks, Riversides, Equips

IMG_5113_zpsa79d186e.jpg

IMG_5114_zpsc0557349.jpg

IMG_5115_zps4b194070.jpg

when i spotted this wheel jammed in a corner I said to ryan if they are neg offset 15's im buying them

IMG_5116_zps3a45ab59.jpg

unfortunatly it was 14' and was only a single, was a decent size though in 14x8 -8 from memory

IMG_5117_zps2b680823.jpg

IMG_5118_zps0062c34c.jpg

this was probably the best little of wheels ive ever seen in one spot

IMG_5119_zps10beef83.jpg

IMG_5120_zpsc7f2d230.jpg

the guy that owned the place was more than happy to walk us through the place and im so glad we stopped it was amazing

this is what the place looks like from outside so you can undertsand why we didnt stop

IMG_5122_zpsdab2ea38.jpg

to be honest I cant even remeber what we did for the rest of that day or night so thats the end of that story, enjoy!!!!

next up is our day at Nikko Circuit
