Victorian Drift Club : Drift Attack, Round 3 of 2009 Championship series

 

~ Sunday 1st November 2009, Winton Raceway, Victoria ~

 

The biggest drift event in Victoria for 2009, OVER $8,000 IN CASH & PRIZES TO BE WON !

Pro Class 1st Place - $3,000 CASH

Pro Class 2nd Place - $2,000 CASH

Pro Class 3rd Place - $1,000 CASH

 

Street Class 1st Place - $500 CASH + PRIZES

Street Class 2nd Place - $300 CASH + PRIZES

Street Class 3rd Place - $200 CASH + PRIZES

This is a competition day, with an emphasis on qualifying and battles. The beginners section will be closed, this is not a standard practice day.

 

Spectator Fee:

$20

 

Passenger Rides:

$30 for 2 laps

 

Driver Fee:

Pro Class - $250

Street Class - $180

 

Rules regarding Pro Class and Street Class:

- Any driver that has competed at any national event or international event, ie Drift Australia round, Super Drift Round, Drift Fest, they must compete as a Pro Class Driver.

- Any driver that has competed interstate, ie: G1, NSW Drift Series, must compete as a Pro Class Driver.

- Any driver that is sponsored who has some sort of support from an external company must compete as a Pro Class Driver.

- Any driver who has large signage on their vehicle that is advertising a company, product or organisation must compete as a Pro Class Driver.

Acceptable Licenses are: AASA or Cams L2NS - No license means no going on the track!

On the day purchase of AASA license:

AASA license $50

(Can be purchased at the Winton office on the morning of the drift day. Entries will not be accepted without proof of license or receipt of payment from Winton)

 

Please note : VDC board members will be checking AASA and CAMS licenses, this year we will be checking everyone. Please ensure all your licenses and memberships cards are valid.

 

 

The usual requirements as always are:

 

*Long sleeve and long pants of non flammable materials i.e. No Nylon

 

*Closed footwear

 

*Helmet that complies to Australian Standards (has ASA or Snell Sticker)

 

*Car needs to be in a good condition, no oil leaks, no loose items in the car and battery secure. It must pass scrutineering to be allowed on the track!

 

*Working seat belt/s (give it a pull and make sure it locks)

 

* Every car must have the correct amount of wheel nuts:wheel studs. Get it right before you get to the track!

* FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE COMPULSORY AND MUST BE FITTED CORRECTLY IN THE CAR AND WITHIN EASY REACH OF THE DRIVER!

7:00 - Driver registration in Credentials office

7:30 - Gates open

7:30 - Scrutineering starts (goes till 9)

8:30 - Driver briefing

9:00 - Pro class practice

9:00 - Trade stands and show & shine is under way

9:30 - Street class practice

10:00 - Pro class qualifying

10:30 - Street class qualifying

11:00 - Team drift practice

11:00 - Open practice for Pro and Street

11:00 - Show & Shine awards presentation

12:00 - Lunch

12:00 - Pit Walk

12:00 - Burnout comp

12:00 - Top 16 result posted

1:00 - Top 16 -> Top 4 Pro Class battles

2:00 - Top 16 -> Top 4 Street class battles

3:00 - Team Drift battles

3:30 - Top 4 Street class finals

4:00 - Top 4 Pro Class finals

4:30 - Presentation

5:00 - End of Day

 

Qualifying:

2 laps only per car, warm up is back M section. After 2 laps are completed back into pits. We would like to commence the pre-lunch practice session as soon as possible, let the smoke show begin !!!!

Theres other shit in Benalla too......... Evo nationals the day before us and some massive 3 day golf tournament, shit was booked out way back at round 1 when we tried to book.

at which point the spectators will probably like it more because its a CCCRRRAAAASSHHHUUU!!!!

 

not good for the people in the train though. Safety wise it might not be allowed id say!

Keep them coming guys and remember there is only 32 spots for each class so don't miss out!

well going to have a chat to my mate who runs the car i drive, the green Sil80s definatly not going to be there but he has a few other s13s, which are regoed coilovered and pretty much stock hahaa but i'd love to drive winton again not really fussed what in or whether im competitive, Failing that im out, unless someone wants to lend me a car,

I heard fink the other day saying you could use his 86 ;)

 

I was saying to Frank the other day at your house fink that there was prize money and he was all excited, now to hear the Holfords car will be there is good news. Shapeing up to be a massive event, cant wait!!!!!
