^^ interesting line out of hungry and into the loop, you seem to battle some crazy under steer, goes to show there's still time to gain :)

So you've definately loosened both coilover to spindle bolts and tried pushing the top of the wheel all the way in?

It just seems weird that I can get around 5 degrees out of my coilovers but the most you can get is 2.5.

Is your base adjustment the right way round like this picture? (Elongated hole at the top)

yes confirmed. i guess different brands have different ranges. racing logic is what iv got. hmm wonder if putting the elongated hole at the bottom would help at all o_O

My Time (Ben Boettcher) at QR of 62.21 was for the Clubman Track. As for the Sprint I did a 60.42 on street tires (Yokohamas). Hoping to post a reasonable time this weekend.

hey Guys

yes as Robby says above it was on RSR`s - Since last time it was out the engine got a freshen up and now has a Trust T518 with haltech and Racepak dash - retuned it got 240kw at the rear so that plus a few suspension tweaks and I was pushing pretty hard we got the 57.22 .

So when we do get some R compund tyres should be fun

Paul

That's an awesome time Paul. What spring rates and tyre pressures are you running if you don't mind me asking?

hey Guys , sorry I havent been on here just been busy as .

The car runs 9k fr 7 k rear springs when those times were set - am going down to 5k rears to try and get better power down out of corners as it still doesn`t do that very well ! tyre pressures are 32 start building up to around 40 hot last time we were out .

Am going to lakeside this Thurday 19th and will have the Federal Motorsport rep there with some FZ201`s to try out in med and soft so will be interesting to see how they go and how the car reacts to more grip . if your there come say hi :)

Have plenty of adjustment in the shocks and sway bar rear as they were both on full soft with the 7k springs so in theory we should be able to get it to work ok :)

Will be doing a session on RSR`s before we go to the FZ`s to get a base time so yes will have an RSR time for you

Have you tried ditching the rear sway bar? I found that gave me a little more grip out of the corners.

Well just back from Lakeside and had a ball , we ended up with a 57.4 on the Medium compound FZ201 federal Semis so pretty happy ! I reckon a 56 is on the cards with a few more changes plus I am still learning the track :)

Car works awesome with the softer rear springs , much better out of corners and tried some Project Mu front pads which were great as well

So Monday is QR Time Attack , see how we go there

Only really got one clear lap in the first session , 1.00.07 - would do high 58 at a guess ?? We got pinged for noise in that session so misse dthe next two sorting that out .

The 57.4 was on Medium compound FZ201 as well , didn`t get on to the softs which I was dying to try ! So QR monday we will run the med then try the softs , hoping for a 55 :)

i was also out at lakeside on thursday but only got 4 laps in then my gearbox died

3rd lap i got a 1.05.06 so there was plenty of room for improvement that day

i think i need a softer rear as its setup for drift, when i power out of carousel its a battle for traction every time

awesome times at Lakeside Paul! A few more trips there to really get used to the place and the new tyres and I'm sure you'll go a fair bit faster yet. Way to raise the bar!

I'll definitely come out on Sunday to watch.

Great stuff. First time i've been home to view the video. The car is very smooth, you've set it up well. Do you guys do your own wheel alignments and corner weighting? Will have to drop the car down when i've repaired it if you do. The federals look like they're gripping really well out of the corners.

Thanks , yes we do all setup in house but dont have corner weight scales as yet . We do work with MCA suspension for shock dynos and extra advice as well , Murray is a wealth of knowledge ! He has been going to bring the scales down for while now but we haven`t got to it as yet but its working well so not worried

56.3 is madness! Well done again Paul and the Option1 Garage crew. Great watching you fly around the track out there, and good work on the vid editing Storm.

And congrats to Scooby36 as well, smashing his PB with his first run on the Federal FZ201s. Those tyres are certainly laying down some serious times in the right hands!

I'm feeling slow all of a sudden lol Time to get rid of my standard viscous LSD, then save up for some of those FZ201's ph34r.gif

bugger, this fella has bumped you harry !

no idea on the car's details other than 2L turbo which gets classed as 3400cc i think?

yeah, my mate Steve was racing out there in his 1200. The guys in that S13 were changing the engine when I was out there on Saturday afternoon, so pretty good going for him on Sunday! :)

They're Improved Production racecars. You're right, 3400cc capacity comes from the 2000cc engine x 1.7 factor for turbo cars. Improved Production makes turbo cars run a 36mm restrictor. Limits power to about 350bhp at the wheels max, but alot of guys struggle to make more than 300bhp. And engines run out of puff about 6000rpm. They run more boost at lower revs and make HEAPS of torque. They also have to run the control A048 tyre which isn't the fastest tyre around. IP also don't allow any sperical joints. But within their rules, they are no comprimise race cars - stripped, extensive weld-in cages to the strut towers, and driven by people who race a whole lot more than I do. It should really be faster than a full street trim car driven by a bloke who does 3 or 4 track days a year ;)

oh sweet, ipra :] shame about the restrictor making it expensive to make competitive power levels, surely they could just cap it at a given number and then add heaps of weight ballast if you started winning.

wanna see some pics of this car!

also found this vid, over in WA they allow the ipra fellas to run at night! awesome quick s14
