im using a sard surge tank

the external pumps are housed inside the surge tank to limit space and noise

surge tank can hold 2 pumps

My setup will be similar to the following, Can have the rear section covered and if ever pulled over nobody would be the wiser if i had to open the boot.

So is it fine to relocate the fuel filter to in between the exit of the surge tank and the high pressure pump? Tidy up the engine bay a little.

you wouldnt need a surge tank for street use unless your a sick speed racer and redline it in first and second from every traffic light, or have an extreme forced induction and fuel system to require the external pump and surge setup

Sweet setup str8e, those hard lines must've taken ages to do. I like the way you've done the top tank fittings. Are they brazed on? What lift pump are you running?

can you have too big a pump as a lift pump? i am looking at fitting a surge tank, mainly because my car will be used on the track, and i have a 040 in tank. Is this too big? would be using a single 044 external

yes u can

u will just be filling up ur surge tank quicker and it will just over flow into the fuel tank via the return line to the fuel tank

How do you go about starting a fuel system with a surge tank for the first time? Seems like it would be pulling alot of air through for a while

What's the odds of standard pumps dying as lift pumps? I'm bout to purchase all my stuff but bit worried that having a good setup is ruined by the stock pump

I'm using my stock pump as a lift pump for years now it's never let me down

Comes down to the condition of your stock pump tho
