Haha! Thanks Vodka! Means a lot ^_^

I've been really slack lately, cameras loaded with new pics, but I'm finding it time consuming to load them to the lappy then resizing them etc!

Is there any free programs to do this, all pictures at once? I have picasa, but that shits confusing haha!

Been doing some macro stuff as well. The standard lens, just flipped around.

I'll try upload some now.

All you do in picasa is click export and follow choose size etc wanted and done. goes into your picture folder as picasa export easy.

Nah I love shooting! It's just at the time I bought tix to China, and yeah, didn't end up going because my mate got really sick, was supposed to fly last sat.

Re-booked it for July. Don't really want to sell it, but if I get a buyer I'll have a think about it.

Last night i spent a good 2 hours taking pictures of dead flies, coins, pencils, and other small stuff. Pretty amazing things these cameras can do!

Sorry I haven't been uploading pics for a while, been busy with everything these past couple months.

So I went fishing/camping the other day, and damn the night was amazing, I had to try some star trails for the first time.

Shutter time varied from 5-10-15-20 mins.

I know the next time I'm there I'll do an hour!

nice portfolio man, what program are you using to resize?

Great attempt at stair trails and getting the center. Good start but im going to suggest you try something different next time to improve.

Now if your shutter speeds go over several mintues to hours you are going to get hot red pixels on your image. That is the sensor is getting to hot if left open for a long time.

Also you will get mist on the lens and ruin the photos. Oh and you might also get plane or a cloud going over the top.

So to avoid all these take multiple shots and then combine them (and delete the ones you dont want). There are many free programs that can combine these shots and merge them altogether.

I use startrails.de (www.startrails.de/).

Thanks sid! Actually.. I tried to find the northern star?? :S I just pointed and shot haha!

Well thanks for the tip! I'll try that next time :)

What do you reckon i should stop at? Last time was around 15 minuets or so.

I have taken 10 second exposures for an hour and a bit and then combined them.

I try and find the southern cross then follow it down to find the big star. Think its called south star (Sigma Octantis) and not the northern star.

Another great tip is not to shoot star trails on a full moon night.

Edit: I should get back into doing more.... Havnt done it in years.

Yeah lately I've been researching on stars and locating the south star, I thought it was the Northern lol! Maybe I was on US sites?

But yeah I should be going camping again on saturday and I'll do what you said and try that :)

So what you want to do is take a exposure with no star trails. I find anywhere from 6 seconds to 13 seconds max before it starts to produce a bit of trails.

Then just combine all those exposures together. Get a sturdy tripod as well. Delete the photos that are crap (eg clouds coming over etc).

gdluck :)

Hey Sid, remember how I told you about my mate wanting shoots done for his album, and covers?

I finally got onto that, used torches for lights, and edited them on picasa, mainly just darken and b/w

I think the color should have been more like this one

254377_10150188312045755_559480754_7296453_3739278_n.jpg

But the way i see it, having a warmer color removes imperfections.. where the lighter more cooler images like the above, reveals heaps.

Can I get some tips on color temperature? I was using.. errm 6k+ On most of them.. too high??

And heres a final pic.. Yes she may look gorgeous and have talent and what not, but deep down.. She is a derp.

Hahahaha Sorry.. I had to!

Anyways, rate and hate. Opinions are most welcome. Cheers :D

I agree it comes down to personal opinion, I often prefer a warmer yellow feel with a cooler colour temperature.

p.s. she looks disgusting, how much make up is layered on there?

She is stunning, I'd say no less than 2 hours of make up.

I'll say, her head is good, but her body is.. ah not my standards, too skinny, not enough meat for me.

Cheers for the info Jay! Yeah I was using the inbuilt flash, although I have shot with it before, and usually do, and no red eye occurs.

I messed around with the flash settings, like the flash exposure? I think that was it. Not sure.

Yeah I've been meaning to work on those band pics better, but the guy was in a rush, he wanted a long shoot, where there's minimal editing done.

The only editing I did, was make them darker, so the background disappears.

I have someone else who wants a shoot, so I'll see how I go.

So I decided to play around with lights and torches, I had my girls sister asking me to do a shoot for her, I don't know anything about photoshoots, but thought I'd experiment with black and white and also lighting.

This is what I ended up with.

Very basic set up, LED torch on one side of the face, in the backyard at night, minimal light, shoot and then edit it on picasa.

Main editing was darken, black and white with that color spot thing lol

Very easy, recommend you guys trying it, had a blast as well!
