rebuilding, what will i need?

Recommended Posts

My 26 popped and now faced with a rebuild, i want to fix the oiling problem and strengthen internals, but dont want to do more than what i need to.

in the end i want to be able to put out around 320kw at all 4, but not sure if i will need the whole kit and caboodle to handle that power at the botttom end?

Thanks.

If you're not building a monster you won't need rods. The stock ones are mint.

Just go for pistons, headgasket, oil pump, water pump, crank collar and oil restrictor in the head. Get the machinist to bore out the oil returns in the block slightly larger and if you want fit an external oil return in the back of the head.

That's a rock solid 300awkw RB26. As for turbos, for ~300awkw you have a few options. HKS 2530's, GT-SS's, Trust T517's in the 8cm housing as well as others. Get on SAU, gtr.co.uk and have a look at what ppl are running and their results.

If keeping stock rods I'd suggest getting ARP rod bolts and having the big ends re-sized, not expensive. Get an effective sump baffle fitted while your at it too.
