Agree with a new turbo.

The turbo on my old car was high-flowed with an internal wastegate and I had issues with boost control.

High flow will cost you best part of $1000. For $1200 or less you could get a brand new one.

High flows are ok man. As long as it's done by someone who is in the know.

I have one and have had zero probs. Couldn't be happier.

so is it cheaper to but a new turbo or or buy a smaller one and highflow it?

i may end up getting a t28bb, using it till i can afford a disco like WPN-X7 said

T28's aren't undersized/crap if that's what you're thinking. If you can't afford a new turbo just get a 2nd hand t28 (they're cheap) and save up for something bigger/better while you get used to that. Using 2 different turbos will help you understand the different flow characteristics of different turbos so you'll appreciate the disco alot more when you finally get it.

i had a highflow on my old GTT, done by Hypergear in Melb, OP6 rear housing (standard GTT rear) and it was a great bang-for-buck turbo. Been on the car for about 2.5 years i think, and most of that time on E85 as well, still going strong from what the new owner tells me.

have a chat with hypergear as he's always looking to try new things, so you might be able to get a good deal if you want to be a guinea pig :D

Yea stao at Hypergear did mine. For the price I couldn't ask for anything more. Everytime I have done a mod to my car the turbo gas outperformed both mine and my tuners expectations.
