What's the weirdest thing your Airbox has sucked up?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I just bought a series 2 r33 gts-t and during my routine first checks of the engine bay I noticed that my skyline has at some point attempted to eat some poor small bird! I guess bird strike can even happen at ground level with cars too...

Has anyone else found anything weird like this that a snorkel/airbox combo has swallowed and found later on?

A while ago i was driving in my daily behind a 4wd and a little kid was throwing heaps of tissues out the window for a few kms until the mum noticed, anyway a few months later when i was servicing the car i opened the airbox and found two of the tissues inside. I thought how the f**k did they get in there, then i remembered the little kid.

The state that the pigeon is in now, i don't think it would have been doing too much fluttering....

Funnily enough it didn't even close to dose.

Either the pigeon gods are frowning on the car for trying to snap one of their children in half or the recording studio stuff inside the stock airbox is doing an amazing job muffling sound.

Not in the air box but a funny story. I keep my S13 silvia in a garage and last year there was this horrible smell from the garage which was getting worse and worse which I couldn't work out where it was coming from. Moved the wheeli bins outside, BBQ outside, checked for dead mice etc.. but the smell was was still there and getting worse. So was doing an Oil filter change and noticed a few feathers on the left hand front sticking out. Turns out I had hit a bird and it has gone right through the intake hole in the front bar for the Stock SMIC and wedged it self inside the guard. I now have an FMIC so there is an empty cavity. Pulled out a rotten bird full or maggots....mmmm yum :puke:
