STANTHORPE COMES ALIVE THIS SUNDAY --aug 14

STADIUM DRIFT AUSTRALIA PRO TOUR Rd5

"Drift Championship Series"

The Stadium Drift Pro Tour will be back on track this sunday at the Carnell Raceway Stanthorpe for round 5 of the touring championship series.

Such is the popularity of the Stanthorpe track that the tour organisers Raceline Events have two rounds of the series for the 2011 at the venue (round 2 was held there in april).

The great country setting, spectacular & demanding layout of the track combined with a good surface make for some of the closest & most exciting drift action on the eight round multi state series.

Heading the star studded lineup of Pro drifters will be the series leader Dan Kenneally, (Hogstar / Rockstar Nissan ute) and with three round wins in a row under his belt will be launching a full on attack in an effort to consolidate his position, Kenneally won a drift comp in Singapore four weeks ago then backed that up with a win in round four of Pro Tour last sunday at Queensland Raceway.

Kenneally will no doubt come under some fierce pressure from Ipswich driver & current Pro Tour champion Josh Boettcher in his (GT RADIALS S15 Nissan) who has just returned from a very successful FORMULA DRIFT ASIA event where he ran seventh in a world class field. Boettcher is currently running second in the series a mere one point ahead of Rob Whyte (Monster / Motul 350z Nissan) these three will be under a huge amount of pressure from the likes of "The Iceman" 18yo Nick Coulson (Just Nice cars Skyline) who is also the reigning Level 2 champ.

Another one looking to make it to the finals is "Huge" Eugene Arendsen in the fearsom Tokage Soarer who is also due for some change of luck.

Matt Hambridge (Hi Tech oils Skyline) & Scott Maiden are also overdue for a podium finish & could cause a major upset as they force their way further into the points.

The Level 2 series round 5 looks set to be another hotley contested round with Levi Clarke (Skyline) taking the win & series lead at Queensland Raceway however he is expected to have the class of the L2 field including Josh Lewis, Gavin Edwards, Todd Dalgleish, Tim Connibear & around fifteen other hard drifting drivers breathing down his neck as the battle for series points hots up.

The action gets underway at 10am this sunday at the Carnell Raceway Stanthorpe

Gates open at 9am

Adults ticket is $20

This is a NO ALCOHOL event
