36mm socket? Buy or borrow in Melbourne?

Anyone know where I can get a relatively cheapish 36mm socket in Melbourne? It's for my car's oil filter so doesn't need to be heavy duty..

 

Or are there any kind souls willing to lend me one?

I struggled to find one when i was looking. The rear hubs have a 36mm as well. Had to borrow one off a mate who is a diesel mechanic. Went to 2 tool shops, repco and bunnings. Must have just had shit luck.

All Tools on corner of Geelong Rd and Millers rd have 1/2" 36mm, thats where i got mine from

Yeah Bunnings only has up to 32mm and I heard Repco is the same. Total Tools has one but that was $38! I'll call up All Tools cheers.

 

EDIT: Just called up and it's $20. Sweet!

this to removed the oil filter? strap wrench, oil filter claw tool, screw driver through the side dont work?

It's on a VW and has a hex shaped plastic cover over the oil filter (supposedly). I've read heaps of guides before doing it because VWs always need weird tools.. Haven't read of any hacks so far.

 

Thanks for the offer, Bry also offered but you're both in the east! Probably I should stop being a cheap ass and buy one, otherwise I'd have to pay for petrol anyways to go to the good ol' East.

Pretty sure I bought mine from ebay for $20-$25, came in a few days.. may be easier option for you

i bought mine from autobarn, SP tools impact socket in 36mm was about $22. then at least you have warranty
