I never said cause u use apple your cool.

Just saying, if you look and read this thread, android users are sooooo defensive towards their product.

It doesn't matter what camp you support, bullshit is bullshit.

Just because the Apple fanbois talk most of the bullshit, doesn't mean people calling them out are fandroids.

In the past, I would've agreed with you in the respect that an "iPhone just works", but in the last 12months i've found Android phones to "just work" with the added bonus of simpler menus compared to the iPhone.

This so very much this, older androids sucked for "it just works" but get a newer android (ICS+) and ive found "it just works" better then any iphone ive ever met and stock feature wise theres more and they works better, data usage management and limiting for instance

On the defensive front i think its a case of having to be defensive rather then moron-ish fanboy-ism with no facts behind it, there are so many rubbish "apple does this better then android", or the big one for me, "oh my idevice has this new feature" thats been in core android for years, style claims that gets thrown around with no facts to back it up and then whenever an android fan tries to point out, with facts, how android does it equal or better it gets fobbed of as fanboy dick sucking or met with "well they dont have "retina, *walk away*" it gets really frustrating, im not saying there arent moron fanboys in the android camp but im just saying it does feel like android fans have to get defensive and try to prove things otherwise the apple guys never get it... and thats apples big win their advertising is/was pure win cant argue with that google have all but relied on word of mouth, fail.

Even when i was watching the commercial i was like wow they even......... wait a minuet :P

Actually i think renting it may be the smarter option, If you have a gf and you all of a sudden just open up your stash of avi files or show her your Firefox Favourites your going to have a bad time.

For Iphone to catch up to Android all it really needs is widgets, that was the only real benefit for the "average person" I saw over using iOS. The UI Customizations seem to be the main thing people talk about when comparing the two so If iPhone had home screen widgets that would be the icing on the cake.

Oh, and on the whole fanboism thing, I admit there are plenty of stupid morons on the Apple camp but the same is true for Android lovers, The thing I see most is people who had iPhone's and made the switch to Android think they're all of a sudden super smart..skill level increase X1000000!! Like, "oh I rooted my Android, i'm so smart cause I DL'd a program from the net and clicked a button, Im so tech savvy" So yeah, I see a far amount of "arrogance" from the "little green robot camp" and yes this is true too from Apple's side but more so "stupid" arrogance. So I just don't understand why most of you think you can't be technically minded and use an iPhone?

on a side note I got my Nokia 8210 up and running the other day, what an Awesome little phone that was, the last call I made on it was in Dec 2003!! Like going back in time haha.

I think you misunderstood us.

It's not that people who use iPhones are idiots, the idiots are the ones who kid themselves into thinking that Apple products are far superior to anything else on the market.

User friendly(er)? Yes.

Superior? Hardly.

I honestly don't believe that one phone is "superior" over another, all have their Pros & cons. The iPhone does many things very well & Android does many things very well.

Honestly Android is a great operating system, I did enjoy using it but I found myself getting too involved in tinkering with it, I found it to be a chore after a while. The iPhone is a great productivity device, you get in, get what you want done, get out and back to reality. I still don't think Android has the fluidity of iOS, they are very close but I still love how smooth and quick my iPhone is.

"Superior" would depend on what your needs are.

For example, if you're a graphic designer with a Mac, then you would be stupid not to complete the set with an iPad/iPhone.

From a business management point of view, it makes more sense to use Android and PC's.

I know people use iProducts for that too, but in my experience all the managers in my organisation who have iProducts CONSTANTLY have issues with email, documents, and VPNs/Remote connections. Going through IT dept tickets, NOT ONE relates to Android even though 50% have Android tablets/phones, and around 15% have a mix of Android /iProducts.

I know there will be some argument the other way, but that's just my factual evidence from a group of around 50.

Exactly! I've already got enough crap to tinker with in my life haha... Besides cars are a minor distraction for me, a phone is something you use pretty much 24/7 so the less I gotta do to it the better imo. I use/fix/manage computers in business already so got enough to worry about. I just want a phone that works at the end of the day, and I expect it to work properly whenever I use it which the iPhone pretty much does.

Can you see my point?

P.S. The Silvia is a shit car after you've owned a Toyota

But then i do have the soft spot for the Silvia cause its just fun to modify and completely change its overall look and feel..

BLASPHEMY! The RZ's curb weight (the mac-daddy version, for those playing at home) is 1490kg (www.mkiv.co.nz). The R32 GTR's curb weight is 1430kg, the R33 GTR's is 1530kg and the R34's is 1536kg (all from wikipedia).

And the R35 as V6 twin turbo is 1740kg according to wikipedia :P

I do alot of photography/video editing/graphic design - but i refuse to own a mac.

Never in my life will i touch one. Built a custom tough computer that handles everything I throw at it, including any music production/recording etc and never have a problem.

Love PC's, hate MACs.

That being said though, when it comes to the phone the iOS is wicked from Apple. Like PhattJZX said: get in, get ya shit done, and then boot off back to reality.

I see both pro's and negatives from each type of phone, however it's getting to the point that I'd rather my Nokia 3310 back if you had netbanking on it.

My last android phone was the original galaxy s, i liked the the concept of android but it wasnt quite there so i sold it and bought a iphone 4s. Recently the contract was up and i just bought a sg3 4g, Iphone doesnt even compare to it, android has caught it and surpassed it in every way, Apple will now fall more and more behind with the stupid restrictions. The only people iphones suit are non tech savy or older generation whom dont understand how to use computers.

End of the day, it's a f*cking phone.

They are made to send a message and make/recieve calls, not cook you a five course meal and suck your dick and I think people are forgetting this.

Fanboy shit aside, no matter what camp, some people just don't need anything incredibly flash that an Android phone is capable of, regardless of age/intelligence/personal requirements.

There are some simple things that Androids still do better than Apple.

Uploading music to an Android is way easier.

Androids have widgets which can be incredibly useful for people who don't want to scroll through an entire apps page, then wait for their torch application to start up when a single tap of their finger on the torch widget will achieve the same result.

Widgets also offer things like weather apps to show the weather forecast on the main screen without opening an app, or a data usage meter that can be visible at all times instead of just when you remember to check.

No matter which way people want to swing it:

"i prefer to pay the extra premium for an iPhone to get a quality device than 'go cheap' and buy a cheaper Android" - In the end, they are all made in factories by low paid asians.

"most people don't need all the power and flashyness of an Android, the iPhone is good enough for most people" - So you want to pay more for less features?

In the end if you use either one of the above arguments you are still an Apple fanboi who is not interested in doing their research because the Apple advertisements have sucked you in.

Thank you for taking my brief statement, which, in no way whatsoever glorified the iphone or operating system as a overall superior product over android, to form a completely unnecessary argument in which, not only did you go on to call me an apple fanboy, but then proceeded to go that extra mile to hop off the defensive foot and get into attack mode just to prove your loyalty to the android system - evidently making you in fact look like quite the fanboy yourself.

If you were to ask me what my opinion to which the better phone was I'd say in terms of capabilities and price - the samsung s3, and in general, the android system. Regardless, I'd still use the iphone, simply because I've grown accustomed to it over the past year and it's what i prefer to use and yes, I have used multiple android deviced like the s3, htc units etc.

I'm not disputing that Android can perform simple tasks just as well, and if not better in some instances than the iphone, because it's true.

That being said however, using your examples in point, still aren't a tedious thing to do on the iOS.

Music for instance - I don't bother. That's what an mp3 player/discman/ipod/car is for. None on my phone so a non issue, and whilst drag and drop via windows explorer etc is always nice an easy, as much as I hate to admit it, iTunes isn't that bad of an arrangement, especially when you have several hundred Gb's of music and is neatly categorized anyway.

Anyone who has to scroll through 40 pages of apps is a f**kwit anyway, keep them in folders neatly labeled with the most important shit being on the first page, simple. My ex used to take 45 seconds to find a bloody app on her samsung s2. Comes down to the stupidity of people, not the product.

Weather widget though - very good.

As is the battery usage, I've always like that.

Each to their own.

The fact people get so heated over the debate as to which is better is pretty pathetic though.

It's like a dick swinging contest.

You did not claim the iPhone to be superior, you instead opted for my second example and took the "Android is overkill" approach.

If you are going to state a preference for a particular device then at least use a real reason like the S3's poor durability compared to the iPhone.

For the record i have both an iPhone 4 and an S3. When people ask me if they should buy the S3 i tell them "unless you think a good camera is important, get the S2".

If the person is incredibly computer illiterate/dense and not within reach of somebody who can give them tech support, i tell them to get an iPhone.

I appreciate each device for its strengths and i call out bullshit when i see it. That is not the definition of a fanboy i'm afraid....

Sounds like Steve Jobs got his hooks in nice and deep.

Unless of course you would prefer to only carry one device around with you.

Anyone who has to scroll through 40 pages of apps is a f**kwit anyway

Many iPhone users could easily fall into the category of "f**kwit".

With that said, even without scrolling through lots of apps, simply having to open an app just to get access to a single torch button is just dumb.

Each to their own.

The fact people get so heated over the debate as to which is better is pretty pathetic though.

It's like a dick swinging contest.

Correct, it is silly to get so heated over brand loyalty.

Getting heated over people talking bullshit on the other hand, that's human nature.
