HTC One, best looking phone ever made? Reposted

Recommended Posts

Anyone here looking forward to this phones release? I myself can't wait, I'm over cheap feeling android phones, my current SGS2 for example. Has to be the best looking phone that's gonna be released this year, I can't see anyone topping it. I also like the fact that they ain't taking to the whole megapixel race, and instead are trying to bring out better sensors. Sadly though, I see this causing them to lose lots of sales because of the whole more megapixels is better bullshit.

I'll be upgrading to this phone from my SGS2 this year, can't see the new galaxy matching the build quality of this phone. That's all that matters these days, phones are so powerful, I'd say the difference in performance across all flagships would be very negligible.

A list of personal pros and cons.

Pros:

-Very high build quality

-Full metal construction

-4.7inch screen, no need to get any bigger

-Loud stereo speakers with what they call Boomsound

-Being able to use it as a universal remote

-4mp Camera with what they call Ultrapixels (because f**k what everyone else is doing)

-Just look at it....Wank worthy

Cons:

-No removable battery

-No SD card slot

-Screen has no bezel on the sides, so it might not take well to being dropped

-Would of liked a bigger battery, probably asking too much though

I wish more people would learn that more megapixels in a small sensor creates a worse signal to noise ratio and is actually damaging to the end result. Good on them for wanting to make a camera with a good looking final product, rather than just blindly throwing the consumers what they think they want.

Not taking the piss, but why would you need more then that on a phone?

I listen to music 8.5 hours a day 6 days a week at work and take a lot of photos. Im too lazy to delete and add music each week.

and porn

You could (like me) want to use your phone as a portable media device. I often carry current seasons of my favourite TV shows, and watch then at a friends etc.

I use a portable HDD for stuff like that, didn't come to mind.

Yeah fair enough, just answering the question. That's one of the reasons people mind not like un expandable storage.

On another note, it looks like a great phone.

It is a great looking phone... but for me it does not compare to the 2 that stand out form the rest: LGs Optimus 4x HD / Optimus G......................... and the up and coming Asus PadPhone. Those look just gorgeous........... the ultimate phone in my mind has no extra overt roundness or bevels or wierd corners - it is a rectangle with a nice piece of glass completely covering one end..... with a nice chromic outline... and the screen inset should be symmetrical so no matter which way you hold it the screen is in the middle (bzzzzt, sorry GS-III). This is why I like the 4x HD - it's just mesmerizing to look at. So nice to hold, use etc. Best looking phone I've ever seen (again, my personal opinion). Previous to that, a "mockup" version of what the Galaxy S3 could have looked like was my favourite phone. That never materialized lol. Also the new mockup of the Surface Phone is hot. They all have what I find awesome: Glass to the edges and symmetrical screens inset... super basic design.

Depending how i feel about the iPhone 5S (currently on a 4S) this could well be my next phone, not having a sd card slot doesn't bother me.

It looks much better then the mock-ups of the Galaxy S4 I have seen, plus it is smaller and made of proper materials not plastic.

The last HTC phone I ever played with was my brothers HTC Touch Pro with the slide out keyboard a few years ago and it was f**king horrid compared to my iPhone 3, so I will definitely be having a play with it first (I understand HTC have come along way since 2009)

There are so many things we should have changed in this world but they are the way they are.

For example, guinea pigs are neither pigs... nor are they from guinea. Lead pencils no longer have lead in them. We still use archaic icons like an alarm clock and an old 1950s style phone to represent digital devices that do the same thing. One day very soon, a child will look at that picture of an analog clock with princess leia ears and wonder what it all means.

but let us digress................ at least we can argue over the nuances of phones lol.

Def the best made Android phone I've seen to date, makes the iPhone look like a toy imo.... If this was running pure Android I may have considered giving Android another go but had a HTC in the past and wasn't a fan of "Sense" UI.

Still I think HTC is under rated in the "Media Device" race, at least they are focusing on innovative hardware rather that shoveling a bunch of useless UI features into Android like Samsung.

fixed 32gig storage. No thanks puke.gif

I believe they have a 64gb option for more porn :D
