Power Steering Reservoir Relocation & Hoses

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if people have any pictures or photos of their actual work of moving the power steer reservoir & what they did for hoses.

second time I've replace those gay hoses, want something more reliable, possibly braided?

That kit looks sick. ill look into it.

just wondering, does the reservoir have to be above the pump so the fluid will drain into it or will the pump just suck it thru?

bling, first time my intake pipe rubbed thru the feed line & this time it just started to leak (they look pretty swollen too) prob due to the fluid I used.

want something i don't have to worry about again.

if you use the right hoses you'll never have trouble.. sounds like you used heater hose or something like that?

its pretty easy to do

there is a pipe bolted onto the power steering pump

its got a 2 bolt flange with 2 star bolts holding it onto the power steering pump

remove that and cut the pipe of the flange and reweld it so the pipe is facing the direction you want it

then make a bracket to bolt your reservoir where u want it

i reuse the standard reservoir but i cut the mounting brackets of it and weld on my own

Lightweight braided hose for pressure side, standard return. Internally baffled reservoir.

Away from heat in air filter enclosure.

There's another pic in my gallery.

I didn't cut any of the lines of the reservoir

All I did was cut one of the mounting brackets off

The other mounting bracket I kept there but I welded a piece of steel to it then on the other end of the piece of steel I welded a mounting bracket

I ended up using a LS1 reservoir cause both the outlet & return face forward. looks nice & neat but i think the way the fluid swirls its causing air to get in.

Gonna try & do what u did with the standard one Kemp. Just wondering which side u cut?
