HKS 2530

i dunno much about turbos and the difference between them. just wondering what would be the difference if i bought a HKS 2530 to replace my standard turbo on a s14 series 2?

 

what would i expect out of the HKS 2530? quicker response and benifits..etc..thanks

from experience.....not much at all.

Maybe more low down torque from earlier boost.

S15 with the 2530 @ 1bar, PFC and all the supporting mods made 250rwhp.

Simlar setup on a S14 motor but with a T28BB @ 1bar made 200rwhp however with spastic AFRs :angry: I'm sure it could make up to 250rwhp too if retuned.

 

Always thought the HKS 2530 would be more suited for say a 1.3-1.8L motor.

Having said that, doesn't mean it wouldn't be just effective on a 2L. As it can take more boost over a T28 which is really limited to about 1.1bar.

 

I guess it would be nice to have, if you wanted boost a lil bit earlier (2250rpm) without cams and still be able to boost it through the roof. (I don't know it's efficiency range though :( )

these turbos are paticularly well suited to rb20's and sr20's where you are looking for good response ie: drift/curcuit/street. will respond better than std. but is easily capable of over 200 rwkw. look at my laurel if you have any doubts about it being too small. and dont listen to all the idiots telling people that anything less than a t88 is a waste of time, theyve obviously never driven a dyno queen on the street.

I wouldnt bother with a 2530 if you already have a T28. I would go with something bigger, as the 2530 isnt much of an upgrade.....
